Talk to your dealership.

It's their responsibility to put the materials package together and hand it over at delivery.
I did when they handed me the manuals...all wrapped in a pre-packaged plastic thingy with my spare key inside. It was sadly cheap. And just all-around sad.

My 2020 Lariat has the cheap plastic manual cover. It is sad the way they try and save bucks on the stupidest things. You would think they would keep all the little stuff to set themselves apart from all the other cheap vehicle manufactures. Guess not.

with most manuals being available online....you know there will be a day you don't even get a hard copy manual in your glovebox.

My friend who has a Tesla tells me his owners manual is all on screen.

don't be surprised if Ford goes this way soon, or if they already are.
buh bye manual cover
buh bye manual
buh buy wasted paper as most people don't even open the owners manuals anymore, and it shows with many of the queries on the pages here.
I will admit to being one of those dinosaurs that likes to read real books and things in print rather than online. My eyes don't enjoy either one as much as they used to, but being online too much is far worse for me than holding a print copy for some reason.

the printed manual is a total waste of paper/money. especially since they revise it so much that the one it my truck definitely has a lot of corrected errors.

Previously I have reported elsewhere in this forum when the topic arose that my 2019 XLT did NOT light up. It's a February build date. Tonight I went out and checked and son-of-a-gun it DOES light up. Which should tell you exactly how much I've not looked at it in the last 600 days. So very little that I never noticed.

Also - even thought the letters P RNDLS do light up the faint Ford Green, there is no "indicator" light that turns them red when selected or anything. Just six green letters regardless of gear. Honestly it's the lowest thing on the list of shortcuts Ford took.

Maybe the ones that don't have it just need you to jam an LED bulb down in there?

here's a great idea....kills two birds with one stone....
I seriously think this might outsell that damn damper.

take a short extension cord...plug it into the back seat receptacle...

route it underneath the console and plug your night light in under there.

the light emanating from it should light up the PRNDS and disable your ASS all in one.

EDIT: added bonus....drill some small holes into your cup holders and use tinted packing tape to light up your cup holders for that amazing LED like ambiance
Just something wrong when you say "disable your ASS". Might freak some people out?

When I took delivery of my 2012 Jeep Wrangler a "User" manual was included. If you wanted a printed "Owner's" manual you could request one to be sent from Jeep. Both the "User" and "Owner's" manual can be also downloaded in pdf form.

I didn't mind at all that the manual didn't come with a cover. I brought it inside, read it and now it's junk drawer. I see no reason for it being in my glove box taking up space.

As for the light... I never noticed till I read this post. Ya it looks a bit dark in that area but it doesn't bother me. I'm always looking at the gauge cluster.

What's next!? Is Ford going to remove that cool EcoBoost badge from the tailgate too?!
No one ever mentions the pencil/pen holder tray from the center console, I still have mine and will never part ways with it.
