They put on two hose clamps; I’d like to think they installed them correctly but you’re right, might be worth checking

From start up to leaving the drive way I sometimes notice a bit of a gentle buck when picking up speed from 15-30mph. Is this the bucking y'all are talking about or an early sign? Doesn't happen often but once in a while when I'm pulling out from the drive way and slowly adding gas.

Likely an early sign. I replaced mine at 46k and the bucking was bad under very light throttle. I'm nearing 68k and I feel like I'm starting to notice the early subtle symptoms again.

Man, I'm under 13k miles on the truck. I'll have to keep note of it next time it happens and report it to the shop.

After start up and in drive or reverse, the throttle response has slight to strong hesitation when depressed...like it's on or off making slow maneuvering difficult...at slow speeds from crawl to 40-50ish while holding with cruise control the throttle feels like its going on/off on/off causing a bucking sensation...

Just experienced the bucking today when I was leaving work. Had 3 or 4 good bucks right after pulling out of the parking lot. Only did it the one time. Makes me think once the motor comes up to temp the water evaporates and the sensor acts normal again? Of course during winter with the colder temps, it will probably be worse.

Have any of you paid attention to when the bucking occurred and if your engine was cold or did it do it when up to full temps?

To bad we can't just hang a dryer on the lines to remove the water.

Nope...warmed up 100 miles or 10 miles...park run into gas station...restart...huge hesitation...I don't believe it's the hoses...it's the sensor failing...

So I was able to resolve my issues I believe. I took my Roush CAI off and put a stock air box lid, tube, and filter back in. I also had Forscan do the “Reset All Adaptations” procedure on the PCM. It’s like a new truck. It drives so much better. Time will tell, though.

Okay thanks, I understand that its the sensor. My understanding on the reason for the failure is moisture getting in to sensor from the exhaust gasses.

Just spitballing I guess. Would like Ford to come up with a solution though.

I think this is wear item...Ford should just put out a bulletin so owners are forewarned that it might happen at certain mileage...granted, some fail earlier than others so it's hard to predict when this needs to be done...with mine, this started to happen around 90K...right before my tranny exploded...

With all the electronic sensors and parameters in the truck - apart from lifespan issues in them for whatever reasons - does it make sense to clear the KAM on occasion - I can do this with my SCT box - and (I presume) force the throttle body to re-learn or re-calibrate itself? I wonder if Forscan is useful for stuff like this and if this or other driveability issues are lurking that aren't major mechanical issues?

I decided to go ahead and throw the DPFE sensor on mine as well. Figured it can’t hurt. Only took a few minutes to change out.

Did you have problems before? If so, did this fix helped?
