So I just bought the sensor and…either I am mechanically deficient or this part is harder to install than I expected. I can’t for the life of me cut the crimp clamps off the hoses. Tried diagonal cutters and can’t get enough leverage. Tried to remove the entire assembly but I can’t see the...

I ended up ordering just the sensor (not entire assembly). Those of you who just did the sensor, how are you cutting off the metal clips at the end of the hoses? Did you remove the entire assembly (undo the hoses) or did you keep it attached? I guess what I am asking is what kind of method are...

couldn’t one just dremmel off the clamps and use zip ties to fasten them to the new sensor? $12 v$80 for one with hoses sounds like a no brainer. Hoses on mine seem to be fine…or am I missing something as to why I need new ones?

Is there any insight into why these sensors are failing? Truck is three years old, low mileage. Is this replacement part going to need to be “replaced” again in three years or are these just faulty?

And forgive my ignorance but am I too assume these rings around the hose lines are to help fasten/tighten each line to male end?

Is the #1 as noted on the diagram the DPFE sensor? That’s what I am to replace? Just the sensor?

I can report back…that surgery went great! It was a two day repair (pull out dash, replace, and reset dash)…but I got it back without any visible damage, clean, and no weird creaks and noises (yet)…crossing my fingers it was as straight forward as it seems. Good luck all!
