Damn, I've got it sitting in my cart ready to buy, but I am a little concerned about clearance with my rack...

If you can spare a moment can I get some sort of measurement on the snorkel distance from the roof line? (towards the windshield). I just can't tell from the photos if the end plates on my rack will clear it.

If the two pics are square to each other, it looks to me like you might be good Jack...the snorkel stops around the mirror face...your rack appears to stop before the same area...maybe?

Are y’all going to include a block off plate for the OEM intake snorkel? The install video just shows you putting the oem intake snorkel back on after installing the Borne snorkel.
Overall the install seems way easier than I was expecting too!

Any possibility we could get an idea on how long the pre-sale will run? Trying to weigh if this should be a pre/post Christmas purchase.

Yup that's what I was wondering.

Why no blocker plate, and why reinstall the factory air intake?

I'm sure they will come up with a blocking plate. That said, it's a pretty easy DIY fix with plastic and some epoxy. Maybe even make a plastic sandwich with some RTV and a couple of bolts and nuts.
Blocking the low air intake is literally the core purpose of a snorkel. I don't see it as an after thought to design and production, and definitely not an optional DIY project after buying a kit.

Eh. They are producing a very nice snorkel that will work with a factory box, their own airbox, or a custom airbox. Having just gone through the process of making my own and fabbing up a new airbox, their tube is an awesome solution to the problem of how to hook up to an airbox.

It actually makes less sense for them to make this kit with a factory delete plate as the factory airbox kinda sucks for water fording. Anyone who intends to use a snorkel for me than looks is going to likely make a new airbox or even retrofit an overseas airbox already lacking the lower entry point.
Like you said in your previous post, sealing the original air intake is very easy, and should be very reliable.

What's the problem with the airbox once sealed properly?

Well I said sealing up the factory intake hole should be pretty easy. You can also plug the drain hole, but you are ultimately relying on the seal of the filter to ensure water tightness of the box itself. Or you have to RTV the filter edges every time. It isn't ideal.

Most of the people who buy this will never use it (at least correctly) for water crossings. Of the people who do use it correctly, they will probably not continue to use the factory airbox. That's sorta how this works, and Mishimoto clearly had this in mind with their method of attachment (unlike ARB, which is one of the reasons I didn't go with ARB).
Apparently you haven't seen what the Australians do when it comes to cramping and air box for water crossing. Yes they take care of the little drain weep hole and of course they block off the original intake if it's not used with said snorkel. Do they are TV the housing box right where the air filter is? Absolutely not because they know that would be silly.
