Curious what your step bar measures to the ground at each end with the 3" kit? Is it a bit higher in the front?
Must be an optical delusion, I took a tape out and measured just now. 12-5/8" to the top off the step on both front and back.

Sounds good, looking forward to seeing it!!!

And an alignment in a pear tree...

Rides/drives better than OE, looks great (in my humble and very biased opinion) and really ended up exactly how I wanted it. Absolutely no rubbing and required no spacers.

Orlando Tire and Wheel in Orlando, Florida (ask for Hector) did the work and did it well.

Thanks!

Looks great! No spacers, just the level? Hope mine goes as well.

No spacers. Not much clearance between the UCA and the tire, but under 99% of driving conditions that distance increases as the tire wears. Zero rubbing though.
I was going to throw in the towel and just put the 265/70 on it, but this new tire in the 275 being 6 Ply was worth a shot and it worked.

Looks like the LT275/70R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W (6 Ply) is actually 3/16" taller than most LT275/70R17 tires at 32.4 vs. 32.2.

I think this thread was originally intended for trucks with no lift or leveling kits.

In that regard (trucks with no lifting or leveling) I just ordered a set of Cooper AT3 275/65/17 tires. These are a true heavy truck tire (10 ply). I wasn't really wanting/needing a 10 ply tire, but in a 275/65/17 the choices are limited. After looking at this thread and the other master tire thread, I believe these will work. The reason I purchased these tires is because they are only 1" taller than the original 255/65/17's. I also like that they're about .8 wider than the 255's. My desire is to not inhibit the zippiness of the little motor with the stock gears and then adding a significantly taller tire. I believe the stock gears are 373's. (Do all 4x4's come with 373's?). There's no doubt there won't be a problem from a diameter standpoint on a stock ride height vehicle. The only worry is the proximity of the sidewall to the steering knuckle. I've noticed others have gone as much as a 275/70/17 tire already without utilizing a spacer to clear the knuckle, so I'll find out for sure if the 275/65/17's will work without a .25" spacer as well. This is with the stock 17" sport wheels. One poster even went to a 285/70/17 wheel and was able to get by with only a .25 spacer.

If it works the way I hope, I'll post up a few pics in a couple of days to verify the results and give others an idea of what it will look like.

no spacers, no lift, no level. As stated before, my intention was to install a taller wider tire without throwing the gear ratio out of whack too far, so I went with a tire only 1" taller than stock, and about .8" wider. These are Cooper AT3's, a true light truck tire (10 ply rated). After driving home from discount tire, it's clear that these I think are perfect for as far as my stated goals were concerned with the existing gears and maintaining the "zippiness" of the motor. No doubt a 265/70/17 would look better, however I like the width of the new tires and again the preservation of performance as it relates to the original gear ratio. I also intend to pull a travel trailer so it made a difference to me as to how tall of a tire I should install.

A taller tire would look better no doubt, however maintaining the performance of the motor is more important to me so these are only 31” tall.

Love Cooper Tires. Which AT3s are they? I found this https://tiresize.com/chart/ to be a good resource to find different brand tires by size.

Has anyone reprogrammed the computer for the new tire size? is this something that can be done with a general ODBII tool or do you have to use forescan?
