I was very happy with Livernois. I chose them because they gave you 5 tunes at the time: 87-89 tune with soft shift an firm shift, 91-93 with soft shift an firm shift and the tow tune. I ran both soft shift tunes an kept the 89 tune in it. With the high octane I got a lot of tire spin when I played around with hard launches even in 4wd with the locker on.

I wish they offered the same tunes for my bronco.

Get the FP tune and go down to 32s, not up to 34s, if you want mpg and reliabiility.

I run an sct canned tune because it was cheap and available. Shifts better, drives better and I see 23mpg but I do 80% highway.

on a plus side I can call any major tuner and get a custom tune for it if I so desire.

I wonder why we do not see anyone using ZFG Racing tunes when he has set the record for the fastest ranger?

Never heard of them and I suspect he did a lot more than just tune it

While there are a few on here, not everyone is aiming for the fastest truck around. Most on here are putting bigger tires on and want to get some performance back while also exercising some restraint to keep things from going kaboom.

I've been running the Unleashed 93 performance and 93 towing tunes with the "TORQUERULES" shifting strategy for more than a 1.5 years now and it's been the absolute best thing I've done to the Ranger. I did the performance package with the replacement spark plugs and thermostat.

I got my Ranger used with just under 10k miles and found out in all of this that there was already another tune on it. With that old tune I would always manually switch gears because it was so frustrating. I hardly ever manually switch the gears now.

We tow a small 3500# travel trailer with the 93 tow tune and it handles it so well. With the old original tune, I'd have to manually downshift to 7 frequently, but with the Unleashed tune I just let it do it's thing.

If we ever replace the Ranger with another Ford, getting a tune from Torrie will be one of the first things I do.

I know if I did a tune, which I constantly go back and forth about, I would go with the Ford one because I would want the most conservative one of the bunch. That said, wild card, consider re-gearing the truck. There was a thread here where a member or two swapped bronco gears into their Ranger. It would be more expensive but give you that off the line torque back while leaving the engine alone. That is what I am considering, if I can find a shop I trust.

Couldn't agree more! My 19 Ranger has 106,000 miles on it and been tuned by Unleased since about 5k. With the Torquerules tune since about 50k. I love it! You don't even need sport mode with that tune but if you do put it in the mode it super throttle responsve, smooth and goes like hell!

Before my Ranger I had 2 Focus ST's and Unleased tuned both of them as well.

Livernois has been great for the 30k miles i have had it. Ive used their 91/93 performance tune, their tow tune, and their e30 tune. Each one has been great. I run the e30 tune for my daily.

What gearing did you go with? Was it Ford Racing? Saw a member here selling his set-up one state over.

just got the Mishi rad and intercooler so I may give in and get a tune because now I know cooling is good to go. Boost and +110f weather, cooling is a concern lol
