it turns on the light over the bed, the third brake light/bed light. So the button does nothing?
Did you get out and look to see if the rear light was lit?Mine does nothing. You would think it illuminate on the dash when you push the button like when the headlights are on.
Yeah, are we talking the white lights on either side of the high mounted brake light or lights in the actual bed of the truck. The ones by the brake light are the ones controlled by the button on the dash. I took the bulbs out of mine because I didn't like them coming on every time the doors were opened and needing to time out when you closed them. Kind of annoying in a campground. The ones in the bed are the optional ones. I don't have them on mine so I can't help there. Can you post a picture of the lights you are referring to?
Ford offers an option for bed lights you turn on by touching. I think we are talking about two different things though.
The button commands the white lights in your third(high mount) brake light to turn on. If it isnt turning on what so ever then you need to go to the dealer. So the button does nothing?
So I guess in this picture the 2 spots at the bottom are where the optional bed light would go? Which option paThe button commands the white lights in your third(high mount) brake light to turn on. If it isnt turning on what so ever then you need to go to the dealer.
The lights come on when I open the door but the button does nothing. If I push it the lights are still on. Btw what option package is the inside bed lights if it is infact an option? The button commands the white lights in your third(high mount) brake light to turn on. The lights for inside the bed themselves are an additional option accessory from Ford. I myself have added it to my truck and be aware you have to drill holes in the bed to make it workSo I guess in this picture the 2 spots at the bottom are where the optional bed light would go? Which option pa

I understand now. I thought it might have been an option from the factory but it’s a Ford aftermarket accessory you have to install. The lights for inside the bed themselves are an additional option accessory from Ford. I ordered a set from Amazon for around $30 and used gorilla tape to attach them. Wired them straight to the battery with a switch next to the tailgate. They give off plenty of light for what I need. I have thought about changing the wiring up to have them tied into the cargo lights, but haven't got that far yet. They have held in place since March without issue. I'll see how they hold up when it gets cold. Might have to use screws then.I understand now.
