Looking for recommendations for a bed cover. Would like to make it more functional with keeping some items out of the elements while driving. Searched on the forum and it sounds like truxedo leaks often. I looked at the ford version
Ranger 2019-2023 Advantage Hard Folding Cover Bed Cover for 5.0 Bed | Accessories.Ford.com
and roughcontry
Hard Tri-Fold Flip Up Bed Cover | Ford Ranger 2WD/4WD (19-24) | Rough Country

that seem very similar and RC is $500 less.

I havent seen any rangers around me with covers so curious what you recommend. I vaugly remember when I purchased the ranger back in 18 bedcovers werent an option if you had a spray in liner -- not sure if its a ford ordering thing? or spray in liners arent compatible somehow?

Appreciate the help!

I like the low profile nature of it. Seems secure enough but leaks a little at the tailgate due to th gaps. Front of my bed is always driy.

I have the Bak Revolver X4s hard roll up. I like it a lot. Only leaking I've seen is a tiny bit at the tailgate corners. Only downside is that it has to be all the way open or all the way closed. Can't open part way while moving. I had a retractable cover on my F150....that was my favorite, but wouldn't get one for the Ranger.....the canister takes up too much space.

I have the BakFlip MX4 and I can recommend it. It's not cheap, but it looks good and doesn't leak. The only water you're likely to see is from the tailgate seals (lack of sealing). I also have the spray-in bed liner, so it's compatible.

I was looking for something to keep the leaves & tree stuff out of the bed and went with the RC Tri fold soft cover. It only took about 15 minutes to install and fits great.

It might leak a little at the front corner but so far it hasn't. Truck has a drop in liner and it isn't a problem. For the price & my needs it is perfect.

I have a gator soft, tri-fold. It's s struggle to get it sealed completely due to the design of the gate. It can be folded back and secured at the cab, or taken off very quickly with 2 hand tightened clamps. I took it off a year ago to carry some large stuff and haven't put it back on since I've been carrying a lot of big stuff.

@19silversport where in Jersey are you?

I've always preferred the soft roll up. never had any issues with leaking. my current 5G came with a hard tri-fold. So far, I'm not unhappy with it. works as it should.

I have this hard-rolling cover, and the price on it is phenomenal. I bought mine back on May 25, 2020, and have had ZERO issues. That's amazing because this cover is about $850, and similar covers usually cost about $2,000!

I don't recommend this cover. I have it and it leaks like a sieve.
I don't have that exact cover, but I'm thinking the one I have is probably made in the same factory. Do you have drain hoses that extend down from the "canister" the cover rolls into? One time I realized mine was leaking really bad, and I ended up cleaning a lot of gunk out of the train tubes. I haven't had any issues since, but I have a feeling that it will take some occasional maintenance like that to keep it leak-free.

Then you must have it installed wrong. Mine leaks little to none, especially if I go through the car wash.

I do have the drain hoses and they're installed properly, I checked recently and they're clear. My problem is leaking around the rear 1/4 or so near the tailgate. I can watch water dripping out of the track into the bed about 12-16" from the tailgate.
