Well... 1st thing I do when I get in the truck is turn off the "Auto Start / Stop"... makes zero sense for a guy in Central Colorado. Pretty damn stupid of Ford to force such a stupid option onto their customers.
Ford's models as a whole have to meet EPA goals, so to keep having V8 Mustangs they need to squeeze even more cleanliness out of the other models to allow the excess of that car. Auto-Stop/Start helps with the numbers they are targeting, and the rules they have to comply with require, default mode on car start, so if you could change its default mode, they likely couldn't use that test or "number credit" of the feature. I get that it sucks, but they left it simple enough to work around in the truck (test lights in trailer connector, or even small charger in 110V plug, turn on tow/haul mode), or you could even get a 3rd party module that pressed the button for you after you start the vehicle (I recall that being a topic on the RS forums).

So I need to buy something for my Ranger... to disable the Auto-Stop/Start... so the folks can still buy a V-8 Mustang.
Stop and think about how stupid that is. That's fine, I'll just push the button every time I get in the Ranger... and curse Ford at the same time.

I just took an old, useless AC adaptor or phone charger, cut off the cord and plugged it into the 120V outlet. This keeps ASS from operating.

I got a memory chip. It connects right up to the switch. It will automatically shut off the Start/Stop when you start the engine. They start for just under $40 and up. I think I paid $85 for mine back in 2019.

I'm frugal.... I'll just push the button

My truck has no 120V outlet.

It's actually not stupid at all when you think of CAFE laws (which one can possibly argue are stupid).

By making Rangers with auto stop/start, along with other fuel efficient vehicles, they can hit their Corporate Average Fuel Economy numbers, and they can keep manufacturing V8 trucks and cars, which helps with branding and sales.

But damn, it's certainly annoying. Hahahaha!

That is why I bought a memory chip. The S/S is still there and can be turned on and off.
