Baja kits cv shaft not fitting

For the peeps that have the Baja kits long travel did your cv axle shaft not fit into the tripod bearing? Or did I get sent the wrong cv shaft. The shaft is too big where even tapping it in won’t work

Are you putting the tripod on the correct side? And the tripod bearing goes in one specific way. I’m guessing you tried flipping it around.

Yup! Did it both ways and still doesn’t make sense how it can even fit. I’m going to email them because my guess is that it goes to a f150

Did you happen to measure the new shaft to see if it was 3” more? If it’s an f150 shaft, it will definitely be longer.

I could measure it but that requires my oem shaft to be stripped . I’ll google the length of the oem shaft. Do you know if they give the exact length of the shaft on Baja kids?

I’m not sure what the shaft length is and I don’t think Baja kits states it anywhere other than being 3” longer for the LT kit.

So I did some counting…..
The tripod has 27 grooves
The cv shaft has 29 spindles on both sides
Do I machine press it in?
Going to definitely email them

aww man so they are different, well that’s a bummer. Now ya gotta wait for the correct pair. Hopefully they give ya a little percentage back of what you paid for the inconvenience.

I'm pretty sure the bearing style has the correct spline count for those shafts. I've seen on other post that the tripod and 8 ball bearing cv's are different in that aspect. I'm sure baja kits built the axles for the 8 bearing style cv

I got my new one from Baja kits and they confirmed it was the wrong one

If you haven't got it figured out by now, since this is about a month old, I can count my stock shaft once I'm home from work. I just had to replace mine yesterday since I shattered a CV

I have my bajakit for my ranger and haven't done it yet...which I'll be doing myself. How was doing the shafts? I havent seen anyone do it for the 4wd Baja kits on here. Most people have the 2wd without the extended shafts and Ive been putting it off since it was cold the last few months here in Utah. Ill probably do it this month and Im hoping I didnt get the wrong shafts. I'll do a count to make sure it's correct. Was it difficult to get the shafts off the old axle?
