Auto Stop/Start removal from the factory for 2022

Just noticed on the 2022 Order Guide that you can have the Auto Stop/Start removed when the truck is built.

All Rangers built after Jan 19 you have the option to delete start/stop, will save you $50, has to do with the chip shortage. I am still waiting for a vin on my order so have dropped spray in bed liner and stop/start playing the constraint game.

I'm kind of surprised with this. It was my understanding that add ons such as Auto Start Stop help the overall CAFE standard for the auto manufacturers.

Wish I had this option in '21, would've saved me like $120. What does it look like on the panel, just plastic where the button usually is or is there a useless button still?

Yep, I ordered an XL SCAB 4X2 last Friday and the salesman showed me a popup window on the order screen saying that the Auto Start/Stop would delay the build. Removing it resulted in a whopping $50 savings (hey, that'll buy lunch for us).

Thanks for the heads up on this. I emailed my dealer and got rid of the auto start stop. The ASS is one of the most annoying features on newer cars.

I agree with this. But what makes it really annoying is not so much the feature itself. It's the programming of it to magically turn itself back on after you (ostensibly the OWNER of the vehicle) turn it OFF. Arrogant and annoying in the extreme.

I wonder if I could convince my new dealer that my auto start/stop was a previous dealer installed option and I could get it removed... Unlikely on a 2021 though.

You are scheduled for 3/7, so I'm sure you are fine. I had a 3/7 date but reordered at a different dealer for a better price so I'm back to square one with waiting for a date.
