I know right! That is what that youtube thingy says as well. Seems to good/simple to be true
Nope. Carvana are straight shooters. As long as you gave them honest and accurate info, they will give you a check for exactly what they quoted you, less any loan payoff, and they handle the payoff too. No hidden fees or added charges to come pick up the vehicle or bring the new one out if you bought it from them. I sold them my 2018 Escape last March and they offered $2300 more than the dealer. I invited the dealer to counter offer, but they couldn't mach it. We signed over the title on my workbench, and the flat tow took away the car. Easy Peasy. I would definitely give them a shot again.

well as of now carvana is still the highest quote I have but the dealer site was only 3k lower(for what that is worth as they can always go lower when they really see it) I am still a month+ away from the ranger getting here and my current car is my only car so I would have to rent and those prices are pretty high. So if it stays this close and the dealer sticks with their online quote I will go with a trade in as that will lower the tax and get it even closer to carvana.

Don't forget, the meter is running at both Carvana and everywhere else. You may have to resubmit or they may readjust their offer if you wait too long, as even in this market, your trade is losing value.

oh I know all that but not something you just want to do on a whim. As we have seen in the last 18+ months things can change quickly so right now I have a good car and don't have a truck that is built and delivered to the dealer. Plus I live in north texas no need to risk my life by riding a bike

Carvana gave me a good quote on a 2019 BMW about a month ago, but after I submitted all my paperwork they wasted a week of my time as I waited for someone to get in touch about the pickup. After getting frustrated talking to their artificial intelligence text and email response system a couple of times, I went to Carmax and got another $2k over the Carvana quote. Carmax was busy and it took 6 hours waiting in the parking lot for the whole process but it was over and done that day. Now is the time to sell a used car if you don't need it, got almost what I paid 2 years ago.

with the uncertainty of when the ranger will be delivered and you are also charged 59 cents a mile on top of daily rate it is not worth it

sorry about that. The last one I rented I don't recall that mileage charge, might have been a special coupon I had found.

it might just be long term rentals. shows the cost for the amount of time and then says "plus $0.58/mile" also it might be regional

either way a month+ time is too long in a rental for me and I didn't order the ranger based on rising tradein/sell value of my current car.

some times a dealer might have a car they are about to wholesale they will rent you for a decent price. it can't hurt to ask. But I know how expensive it is to rent right now. Wife had to rent in Phila, it was like 700 bucks for a week.

pre covid it was cheaper for us to rent a car local and drop it off at the airport than it was to park at the airport. than when we got home to airport, rent one to drive home.

Ask the dealer if they will provide you with a loaner until the ranger arrives if you trade your vehicle for the price they listed right now. Be sure to mention they are $3000 below carvana. Feel free to show them a printout showing it as well.

Remember, the worst they can do is say no.

So got a carvana estimate last week for 18.3K but didn't want to submit the forums until I actually had the ranger and saw what the dealer would offer(of course we all know would be no where near carvana) with the issues after the ranger was delivered was coming up on a week and end of estimate. so got my documents in and went to update mileage (as that is what I thought I needed to do) and it made me reestimate. Oh crap I thought there goes the 18.3k. Sure enough no more 18k. Estimate went UP 1500! Almost 20 grand for a 2013 explorer. That is a lot of extra mods! Can you put 55" tires on the ranger without a lift?

No surprise. We had a 2+017 Subaru that started having issues. Dealing with dealer was extremely aggravating. Got an offer from Carvana, Vroom, SHIFT and CarMax. Carvana was highest but I wasn't completely sure about offloading it. A few weeks later we decided to move it and updated the Carvana offer. Went up $1,000 and it was gone a few days later with a check in hand. Sold the car for what I paid for it (tax and all) a year earlier.

Check with Vroom and Carmax as well.

Both of their offers are currently higher than Carvana for me.

final offer from carvana was $19,787. Got a check cause I thought I could drop it off right away and have the money instead of waiting 2 days for electronic deposit but the bank ends up holding payouts in phases up to 7 days
