The Forscan program in the PC says 2.3.43 release, where did you pull the 2.88. from?

But I do know that when you flash most tunes it restarts the trans "adaptive learning program." And that generally takes about 1k miles to settle in.
I've heard that as well, in addition to battery disconnects restarting the relearning process.
Does anyone know if that's true -- that battery disconnects restarting the relearning process? Since virtually any work on the vehicle needs battery disconnected, it seems odd if it restarts EVERY battery disconnect...

Forscan has nothing to do with the tune. The Procal Updater Software is version 2.88 and it appears in the header of the window. When I first downloaded the software I want to say it was version 2.83. I plug in the device a few weeks ago and got a dialogue saying there was an update and it then updated the software to v2.88.

The 1.347 is the version of the firmware that resides on the ProCal4 device. When I first purchased the tune step one was to see if there was an update for the device. There was but I don't recall what it was but it was updated to 1.347.

The tune file on my 2021 Ranger is MB3A-FPREA1-VC.bin, not sure if this is different per year of truck or not. With the Mustang I had there was an update that came out and the last characters in the file name changed. I tuned my truck in early September and that file name has not changed any time I have checked for updates making me think that there has not been any revisions since early September.

I emailed Ford Performance not that long ago and they told me they did not expect any updates - assuming it is a "bullet proof" tune they gave us and don't want to unnecessarily tweak it the wrong direction. I too have had that "look in the mirror" bump from time to time as well.

This was their reply in October to my inquiry about "auto updates" -
There is no automatic notifications for updates, however it is EXTREMELY rare that a calibration is updated or revised. The Ranger did receive a revision to be towing certified some time ago, however I would not anticipate any further revisions to your tune.

I also have the same version 1.347

It must have reset the trans when I went in, so the relearn process is what must be going on, it's likely I never got into that high speed downshift the first time I loaded it in.
So it turns out to be a big fat nevermind, I'm just a dummy, well at least it's not the first time, I'm used to it, I'll write it off to being old.

Not sure, but I've heard the same.
