Had the Ranger Supercrew FX4 since December 2020, and it has been a great vehicle.

But, now having five granddaughters, ages 8, 7, 4, 1, and 3 months, the rear seat just is not big enough anymore.

Sold the Ranger (at 36k miles) to Carmax for $32k and bought a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, the one with a 3rd row. I have had several Jeeps before, and they are great vehicles, too.

If anyone can use five Bronco wheels/tires or an Extang solid fold tonneau cover, I know where some are for sale.

I have enjoyed the forum. Good Luck everybody!

Dang, sorry to see you go, could have moved here with me where riding in the bed is still legal.

I grew up riding in the bed in Louisiana and Texas, and look how well I turned out! =p

Good luck and drop by from time to time. =)

Jeep quality wasn't that great in 98.
Wrangler sport, with a dash that would not work in Pa august heat. Dealers never could fix the issue.
A buddy had a 2000 Jeep Wrangler and the gauges would occasionally all click back and forth like a metronome.

It was interesting to see.

I think it ended up being a main PCM that had to be replaced, outside of warranty of course.

Enjoy your new Jeep.

And for the naysayers, I have had two Fiat Jeeps and both were trouble free, reliable and very capable. In fact the only reason for getting rid of my 2016 Jeep Cherokee was the fact that I need a truck more.

The majority of my vehicles have been some form of Jeep or Ford trucks. All have served me well with no issues.

Willys M170 front line ambulance jeep
97 Jeep Cherokee JK 300,000 + miles - traded in
2002 Jeep Liberty 250,000 miles - totaled
2018 Jeep Renegade low mileage - totaled
2016 Jeep Cherokee 115,000 miles - traded in*

1983 Ford Ranger XLT 200,000+ miles - transmission went out and sold off
1981 Ford 150 beater Mileage unknown, I'm sure the odometer rolled over a couple of times - traded in
1997 Ford F150 XLT extend cab 210,000 miles - traded in
1998 Ford Ranger mileage unknown - sold
2020 Ford Ranger XL STX low milage - traded in*
2020 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 14,000 miles - current vehicle.

*traded the 16 Cherokee and 20 Ranger XL STX in for the 20 XLT FX4 - reason was that I didn't want to pay property taxes and insurance on two vehicles when I can only drive one at a time.

As you can see both Jeep and Ford vehicles have been dependable for me.

If you have two kids, within 2-4 years of each other, you're a family of four at home, but a family of 6-8 while driving. You take turns schlepping the team to the field/gym, or the grandparents ride along. We have boy-girl twins, the girl was in dance with the oldest daughter, boy was in traveling baseball and basketball. We owned two minivans at the same time for about 7 years: An Aerostar and a Grand Caravan, later a Windstar. more than a few times there were tournaments/ competitions on the same weekend. Invariably, one had a dance in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Then championships the following day, at the same time in two different rooms/gyms. Base- & basketball same thing: 8:30 first game, 5:15 last game and nothing in-between, then six sweaty 12 year-olds for the three hr drive home.
Wouldn't trade one second of any of it.

But I digress

The Dodge was ok, dependable. But as time went on, nit picky stuff was going wrong: windshield washer pump, CD player skipped more and more, pass. power window "catepillar tread" broke and the window wouldn't stay all the way up.
A Chevy Suburban will carry 8 and a double stroller, 2-3 diaper bags, and a couple of full crock pots to a holiday dinner, or 5 hunters, weapons plus gear and beer. I'm sure an Expedition EL would too, but Son in-law is a Chevy Guy. The deer go on the towed Bobcat trailer, if anybody gets one.

Make sure you get a tailgate strut assist for the jeep. Be sure to visit every so often. Get your ranger fix in

Five grand kids? Wow...not too late to trade that Jeep in for a Minivan...

Back in 1976 my dad took us on a family vacation from Toronto to Nova Scotia and the Atlantic provinces. Us three kids ride in the box the whole way there and back but it had a topper so we didn't bounce out I guess LMAO.

That went so well we did Florida in a two-seater panel van a couple years later. We just held on to the milk crates we sat on. To be fair, there were a couple seatbelts in each vehicle, but just for the grown-ups I think?
