Would the dealer make the Forscan change?
That a really big NOPE!!! Even though some Ford technicians may have it for personal use it is not allowed to be used at the dealership.

If you bring it in for some other service and then talk to the mechanic once you know who it is and tell him there’s a couple of six packs in a bag behind the passenger seat <wink wink> and could he turn on the TC control you just might get lucky, most definitely if on a Friday! ?

Ford should have made the TM switch standard on the 4x4 and just had the TC feature a value add for the FX4.

I also wish it had a mode for 2wd for rain, to dial the throttle sensitivity back a bit.Still on the stock tires and they will spin if I’m not careful.

You must have a pretty serious lead foot.

I don't think so but will have to check. Not my daily driver. Building a mid level expedition vehicle to ship to & explore SA. It has a locker so TM would be nice to have even if it works without the screen so long as there is a way to tell what mode it is in. Not going to add the weight of a winch & HD bumper so this would be nice to have.

Hey all,

I've seen that you can purchase the TM switch. I'm assuming this doesn't magically unlock the TM software itself. Anyone know if that is something that can be turned on? Like through Forscan or something?

Thanks
You don't actually NEED to do the FORScan part, but you won't be able to see/confirm what mode you're in without it :D

First video is how to put in the switch.
Second is an easier way to get to the switch.

I have a video showing the full process to disable the artificial engine sound using FORScan, but not how to enable the TM mode popup :(

You might be able to know what mode the TM is in since you click it once then scroll (so a click then 3 scroll clicks = whatever it is)

Appreciate it but the original post was from February :p Off the top of my head, the TM was like Selectable Drive Modes or something in FORscan, I don't remember which module but wanna say APIM?

I'm glad I found this thread. I was really hoping to get an FX4. I was waiting for more inventory before shopping. Then someone hit my car and it got totaled I had to buy now. I have a 4x4 sport, it does have a rear locker. Now I just need this switch and some skid plates.

I assume all this stuff voids the warranty?

I have an 8 year I want to keep but between Forscan, Icon and Liverwurst it's tempting...
