Did some searching. Seems as late as 2017 this was a plug and play upgrade on the F150. Doesnt mean it is for 2019 Ranger, but has promise.
This a picture of the connector in a RH mirror with blind spot. not sure if its motorized as well.
s-l1600.jpg

Shows lots of unused pins which should mean there is a common connector coming from the body harness.
So if the that harness has more wires than the 5 pins in this mirror there is a good chance XLTs could upgrade to Lariat mirrors.
When I get time and the newness wears off my truck I will pull my door panel to check.

UPDATE
Looks like there are different harnesses. Ford parts shows 4 types:
  1. Manual Dual Mirror-Manual Fold Back
  2. Dual Ext Pwr Mirror-Power Fold Back
  3. Dual Pwr/Heat/Fold/Pud Lamp/Signal, With 8 High Series Radio Speakers
  4. Dual Pwr/Heat/Fold/Pud Lamp/Signal, With 6 Speakers
So I believe an upgrade from XLT to Lariat mirrors will require adding the wires.

Are you saying it has been done on these vehicles? is there a forum you could point me to?
Here is a photo from the Flex website of the dash. it's the same one they have been using since 2013, so I would imagine there would be lots of them on eBay or LKQ https://www.lkqcorp.com/buyparts/ I have no idea if it would work in a T6 Ranger as a replacement.

Next step would be to get the part numbers for the mirrors and the wiring harnesses. It would be nice to ask a Ford Tech if options can be flashed to the bcm at the dealership level? Or is there a "lockpick" type electronic device that let's you manipulate the bcm? Assuming the bcm actually controls the mirrors and there's no other module to worry about.

Honestly though the way the glass is recessed my mirrors have not iced over once so far....Now it didn't like me driving it with the top part of the windshield frosted over...The camera could not see forward for a few minutes...all kinds of warnings lol..But the mirrors were ice free...nothing else on the truck was though.

I'd do it if it was cheap though...otherwise I'm good.

I plan to wait till there is more junkyard supply and the prices come down. I want to add full Lariat mirrors. Also need to get a shop manual to see what and how many wires XLTs are lacking compared to a Lariat.
The added functionality seems to be 3 thing, heated mirror, turn signal, and puddle light. I would think at most its 6 wires. Then need to figure out if we can pull power direct, from the defrost line for ex, or need to using relays controlled by the defrost line.
Easier solution is just buy the heated mirror glass and run hot and gnd. Still need to figure out direct pwr tap vs relays. This should also be cheaper, but Ford Parts shows the glass costing MSRP: $555.40!!!
Cant be right as the whole mirror assembly is MSRP: $585.10

When it comes to parts prices, I've learned that they very rarely make sense.... :) It is probably correct.

Curious about what the issue is with the instrument cluster? you would turn down all the features of the Lariat just because of the instrument cluster? To me, the instrument cluster is refreshing, modern and very luxury high end looking.
Lariat dash is digital and the tachometer is tiny.

Many folks, myself included, like a large analog tachometer that's at least as big as the speedometer, especially if you like to shift manually.

As far as adding features using the Ford software you're pretty much SOL unless it was programmed with the original VIN. I was messing around with FDRS (Ford Diagnostic & Repair System) a few weeks ago in the shop and it's disappointing how little can be reconfigured using their software. Forscan is your best bet for anything like that.

Have you made any progress with this? It's really too bad the heated mirrors weren't included on xlt.
No kidding. Heated mirrors should be on any vehicle outside of the sub tropics. Lol. I feel like it's a safety issue.

Anyone gone ahead and done this yet? I'm thinking about ordering a few of the parts and seeing if they will just fit. like the cover and side marker light. Unrelated also been thinking about trying to find the front window wiper heater and rain sensor (found on ford parts website) but wondering if they will just install in a snap is the hard part. Will be doing some investigating.
Would be very curious if windshield wiper heater could be installed on xlt fairly easily.

Ok, I just ordered one on eBay for a couple hundred. Figured I could swap them pretty easy to do some testing. I was not able to find any more threads on this, so I guess I'll be the first. If it goes good, ill try to source the other mirror, or work on the wiring portion.

You can order primed or chrome mirror caps for $15-35 from here. They carry a large amount of OEM parts and in many cases is almost 1/2 with shipping of what the dealer is charging for the same part.
