Hello,

I was wondering is there's anyone out there who can help pinpoint my problem? I have swapped out my XLT power fold/bliss mirror for a Lariat mirror with puddle/power fold/heat and turn signal. I do have rear defrost and the fuse is there for heated mirrors. I can adjust and fold this new mirror as normal but no heat, turn signal or puddle light. I was under the impression all you would do is swap the door harness and mirror and good to go after breaking the bank but that seems not to be the case. Could there be a setting in Forscan? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any options your truck didn't come with will most likely have to be turned on with forscan. I ran into the same issue adding a locking diff to my truck. Even though I had a fuse for it the button didn't work until I turned it on in forscan.

Ah ! the mighty Forscan. Seems, to tweak a lot of options on the Ranger. I don't think you can adjust the transmission. Leave that adaptive transmission to Ford. There were post on the perimeter alarm. An add on to the perimeter security. Does Forscan adjust that. So high Tech for a Machinist like me.

I have a whole thread on how to change an XLT to Lariat mirrors. Link in my signature or search my threads. Sorry traveling and too much of a hassle to post the link here.
You do need to add wires and connector pins to make this work. It's really not too hard. But you do need to be hands on type. And know how to crimp connector Pins.
Message me with any questions, I get back home tonight.

I was in forscan yesterday to change my tire circumference and browsed around but didn't see anything for the mirrors/turn signals/puddles. I'm not that literate with forscan so I'm sure I could have missed it possibly.

Do you know where I could find these settings in forscan?

I'm not sure why ya'll are still talking about forscan, Mike gave the answer above. I know its maybe not what you wanted to hear but you'll have look at his write-up.

It's a great write up and will use it to dissect the new harness but if I can use the Lariat door harness and not have to tap wires to achieve the same thing isn't that worth the research? door harnesses are under $100.

correct. that's why I'm hoping it's just a forscan setting I can't find...lol I come from the days before cars were computers.

That's what I'm saying, even with the new Lariat harness, apparently there are still wires to run and connections to make to get everything working. Mike already did the research and leg work to determine this.

I messaged Mike. Hopefully it's something simple. If not no harm no foul. If I can/Can't get it to work then it will just help the next searching this mod out. :)

Hey guys I just landed from a trip to Spain. I will check back tomorrow when my brain is back fully functioning. What I can tell OP bought a Lariat harness for the door. I made an add on harness. But that's actually a great option.
The bad news is there are no matching connections in the harness at the kick panel. You will have to run taps like I did.
Talk to you all tomorrow!
By the way I love the heated mirrors, puddles and turns are a bonus IMHO.

Oh and no forscan mods are involved/needed. Or Possible!
