Ok, I posted a thread in Off Topic about tents, but after talking to my group we decided on getting a trailer. the only one i can afford ATM is a 6x12 so space will be tight for 4-5 people. VERY tight, I understand this. (I am the only one able to provide consistent payment on a major item, the rest of the outfit the rest of the group will be outfitting the trailer, in short, im providing the shelter they are outfitting.) I do plan on adding a couple of deep cycle batteries for lights/phone charging and the like so we can make sure we have essential power.
My question and request actually is, can anyone provide some good pictures/layouts of what they have done to maximize space in a limited environment. I plan on making everything either fold and latch on the wall (only concern is weight on the beds as some of us are some big bois lol) or just foldable furniture in general.
ALSO. for you DIY folks, What tips do you have for the needs/wants we have listed? We do have around an 8000W generator (per my dad, i need to confirm that) for power when plug in power isnt avail.
Needs
1. lights
2. AC/Heat
3. Outlets for Coffee pot (IF campfire is not doable. IE Rain storms), charging radios, lights, phones, etc.
4. Be able to switch from generator power to electric grid power as the situation needs
5. AC during the summer.
6. Storage for clothing/gear (though this COULD be kept in the vehicles, it would be better if we could wrangle this into the trailer) we are not opposed to either option.
Wants
1. TV (not cable, I have movies and such, just some night time entertainment before bed)
2. Microwave (see above for coffee pot), I know this one may not be feasible
3. Fridge. A smaller fridge, half sized just to keep meat and such in. Other items we would use a cooler/ice and i am open to propane fridges
I plan on putting in a breaker box with several circuits, 1 for general outlets, 1 for 12v charging, 1 for ac, 1 for TV (not needed but if we need to turn it off we have the opportunity if need be), and some space to grow as we deem fit.
So my first question is how do i get power from a genie AND/OR power pole to the interior while being safe?
2nd question is what ideas do yall have for layouts? there are 2 doors, 1 on the right side (passenger) and one drop down on the rear. I will post pictures once i actually get a trailer but for now just looking for ideas and suggestions. I do plan on getting a V nose trailer if that matters.
