So when I got my Westin winch tray I add the RC tow hook conversation to the bottom of the tray. Liked it bout was not too happy about the overhang. So I decided to modify the factory ones and istall them in the spaces provided for the tray. Also found some tow hooks from a F350 laying around so...
Last weekends trip. I was leading so footage was limited haha. But was a great day for sure. Anyone near middle Tennessee wants to go out on some dirt hit me up.
This is in Macon County. But we ride all over middle TN. East has all the main mountain trails. But we still have a few spots here in the middle to get out and have fun.
It was his first time offroad. He just finishing the build and asked if he could run them to just play with it. He's built a super capable rig but yes he needs some practice picking lines. All and all nothing broke and he had a blast. So mission accomplished.
I tow 2 SxSs regularly. Probably not as much weight as a camper but sstillnot light either. I've bought an Add a Leaf for the rear but haven't had a chance to get it on yet. But it's done fine so far. I do have the Redarc brake controller. I would say that's a must for heavy hauling.
Squeezed some 305/65r17s on her this week. They are some hand me downs to make clearance but think I love the look. Now to get out and make sure I've got no rubbing while offroad.
It seems to be attracting to mostly the older ladies. I still love the older ones.
P.S. I'm the little guy in the first picture. The big guy on 35s is Brian Young @hidden_gem_adventure
I'm running a 1000 watt inverter off a secondary group 31 agm battery in the bed. I'm using a Ctek dc to dc charger with an alternater and a solar charger input on it. Also have a 100w solar blanket I hook up when parked camping. The DC to DC charger only allows max 25 amps to come from my...
Well the the family really enjoys camping and hiking to find waterfalls and great overlooks. That being said I found a way to find them without all the exercise haha. Bought our first SxS and a few months later bought a second so the wife could drive also. Now it's become more of an obsession...
If you look on Facebook there is a 19+ Ford Rangers of Tennessee ran by a couple from east Tennessee. Crystal Brooks and James Schumacher if they are on here. They just moved up from Florida to Somewhere in Eastern Tennessee. They are always out exploring and they have 2 well built Rangers.
Yeah they are a great group as well. I've had a few Rangers through the years and they helped me through some issues. The Loan Ranger is also why I have a gen 5
Spent the weekend traveling the Georgia Travese with my son and a friend from the TRS forum (Eric Benner aka Curious Hound Overland). No real hard off roading but some great overlooks and awesome campsites right on the flowing creeks. I highly recommend checking it out if you get a chance.
