I kick myself everytime I think about how stupid I was to sell one of these long ago...I had it since new in the 70s...$600 new back then...?That's true. I got this one from my brother in law with a trade for a Springfield XDS.Nearly 3K invested. The amazing thing is that parts are readily available for a 48 year old bike. It is common to see ones on ebay in much worse condition than this one was for 2 grand.
I say that about so many things. 57 Chevy, 69 Camaro, 73 Honda SL 350......... I guess that's why the collector market is so strong. Just watch Barrett Jackson, Mecum or even American Pickers. So many of us like to collect memorabilia from our youth. But we can't hold on to everything or people call us hoarders.
And a much bigger budget. So far, the lottery has failed me.

?Yeah, that darned lottery hasn’t done much for me either. In the early 1990s, I had an opportunity to buy a Ferrari Dino. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve kicked myself for passing it up. My kids were young, and I didn’t own a house yet. The timing was bad. After Enzo Ferrari died, the price of those cars skyrocketed. Yep, I had a bunch of Nascar and Indy car diecast and other things mostly from the 80s. Recently took a look only to find most of them were getting just about what I paid for them nearly 40 years ago. My brother in law has a booth at a peddlers mall and I sent them to him to sell. We paid for our admission to Mecum auction and a few car shows, along with a few lunches.
. At least we had a few good days and some good hot dogs and cokes.?
It still amazes me how quick this truck can "get up and go" when you're already cruising at say 60 - 70. Just hitting the gas and it takes off like a rocket and before you know it you're in triple digits. You can really feel it with theHauled a$$ on some good interstate 1/2 mile straights, off peddle @ 107 in blink of an eye. Good thing I have the damper, that extra 15 hp adds to the tune no end. The Dave (@AzScorpion ) has secret code for the worthy.
