  1. New GMC Canyon Now Shown!

It surprised me too. It's difficult to tell them apart. I'm disappointed they didn't add the multipro tailgate. From a financial perspective, it doesn't make sense to have both trucks when they are nearly identical. Drop the GMC and add a Denali type option to the Chevy. I like the new...
  2. New Colorado revealed....

Personally, I've had no hunting/lugging issues with my 10spd, but I also have no objection to a well tuned 8spd. I just thought they would have dropped it because of all the problems they had. I also figured they'd get marginally better gas mileage with the 10spd, which is crucial to...
  3. New Colorado revealed....

I'll just cut and past what I posted on the 6G site: Looks way better, inside and out, than the outgoing model. It's a tad Tacoma-ish looking IMO, but not enough to deter me. I was very surprised that they are not using the 10spd though. I wouldn't want to buy in the first year, simply because...
  4. Have a 2019 Lariat. Rented a 2020 XLT

:LOL::LOL: I do miss the ACC on the XLT. I use it all the time on my truck.
  5. Have a 2019 Lariat. Rented a 2020 XLT

As the title states; I have a Ranger & rented a Ranger. I'm out of town and rented the XLT for 6 weeks. I'm a week into the rental, and there are a couple of differences that are driving me crazy. One is the door handle lock/unlock feature of the Lariat. I never had that feature before buying...
  6. I spent a week with a new Frontier

I think Nissan wasted a good opportunity to one-up all the other manufacturers. Instead, they redesigned their truck to be comparable to what is currently out. In another year (or so) everyone else will have a new truck and Nissan, once again, will be badly outdated.
  7. P.A. Schilke back stories

I logged in just to back you up on this one. Probably the most informative and entertaining threads here. KJRR, thank you for compiling the stories!
  8. Ranger Fender vent lighting

You park your truck in the kitchen! Dude. That's so awesome!
  9. Tutorial on how to align your Ranger at home after installing a leveling kit

Excellent video. A couple things I noticed though, is you are relying on the hood of the truck to be level. It's not uncommon for the hood and even the entire body of a vehicle to be slightly off-level. I'd go underneath and put a level on the frame rails. EDIT: Actually you should take the...
  10. Nitto Ridge Grapplers to loud and rough. Any suggestion?

I have Cooper AT3 XLT's and am very impressed. Very smooth and quite on the highway. Not as aggressive tread as the Grappler, but if you do a lot of highway driving, these would be a good compromise. The XLT's look more aggressive the AT3 LT, but do ride a bit "firmer".
  11. Auto High Beam confusion...

This is what I was saying I do, and the lights do not drop out of auto mode when I manually turn the highbeams off. Maybe it's just Canadian models that do this? We have different headlight rules than the US.
  12. GM Canyon and Colorado poll

You can add me to that list. It was the interior that turned me off. I was coming from a Sierra and I was never a big fan of the dash. The Colorado/Canyon had the same dash, but even lower quality. The Ranger interior was the reason I bought the truck. It's not great, but I felt it was the...
  13. Auto High Beam confusion...

Sorry, but not sure what you are trying to tell me? Are you saying there is a particular sequence you need to follow to get the auto high beams to stay on? Maybe I wasn't clear in my response to Big Blue. I was just saying that I don't have to do anything to return my lights to auto after...
  14. 2023 Ranger 6G globally revealed!

I saw those, but I don't think they cover stake pockets. The location is not at the same spot a stake pocket would be, which is the very corners of the bed. I think those covers are for the accessories, like sport bars and rails.
  15. Auto High Beam confusion...

Not so, with my 2019. Just did the same thing a couple nights ago. Had a 1.5hr drive on dark roads and there were a couple times when the auto high beams didn't come on when I wanted them, so I did it manually. Turned them off when a car approached and the auto feature still worked.
  16. Commodity hold advice?

I'd say that LineX is better than factory. My experience with Ford's accessory options is that aftermarket is usually better. I've been very disappointed in the Ford accessories that I purchased. Don't just assume the dealer uses a lowball vendor. I'd call and ask. My dealer did the...
  17. 2023 Ranger 6G globally revealed!

Looks like I'm a minority here, but I really like it. I really don't like the front end on my 2019. Almost didn't buy because of that. I could do without some of the extra "padding" on the 6g bumpers, but overall I think it's a great improvement. The interior looks way better....except I...
  18. What do you regret buying for your Ranger?

No. Never did. The Nissan system is solid. I agree the one I posted doesn't look to be as strong.
  19. Access keypad - I don’t get it!?!

I use mine all the time to get into the truck when I don't have my fob in my pocket. It's most useful when I'm doing a sporting activity and don't want to carry my keys with me. Just leave them in the truck, lock & go. It is ugly as piss though. I relocated mine to the black part of the rear...
  20. Petroglyph or Alien Writing?!?!

Holy Crap! I knew the Ranger was an old model when brought to North America, but I didn't realize it was chiseled by cavemen. o_O
