I'm sure Ford conserns of a 30" tire going into the cab are a consern. However once your getting to a 34" tire, that's a lot of tire to push into the cab. It's like trying to fit a much bigger object through a smaller hole. I do plan on trying to get aftermarket crash bars back in. Older cars have none of this.

I understand it's at my own risk.

The only way to get true ground clearance is with larger tires. I'm a big advocate of as little lift you can do to fit bigger tires. This is why I have a Ford Explorer on 37's that can still fit in parking garages. ? And I could still make her 2" lower.

I'll try to get some additional pictures. ?
I worked more than one traffic accident where the front tire was where the driver or passenger used to be.

Jumped up to 34's. These do measure true 34" at 33.99" from BFG.

Lift : Leveled, Running Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2, currently.

Wheels: Method 305. 17x9 0 offset.

Tires: BF Goodrich KO2 285/75R 17.

Mods: Crash Bar delete, egg crates removed from behind wheel wells.

No rubbing, unless I pull into a driveway turning really hard.

Hey guys, I am planning on the 3.5 BDS lift with 2.5 fox DSC remote reservoirs front and rear. Also includes BDS UCA's and a shackle for rear leaf springs...for a 1" lift in rear.
1000002555.webp

Fuel Covert 17x9 +1 offset...
I was planning on the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T's
285/70 R 17....
Then...I found this thread...and I am wondering if...

Can I run the 285/75 R17's on this lift wheel combo if I cut crash bars, and take out the black waffle/egg crate/sound deadener in the rear of the front fender?

I don't want to worry about rubbing while off-roading or urban curb hopping. ?

Thanks for any feedback, experience, or info. :like:

I have the OME HD kit and I run 285/75r17. I had to cut the crash bar mounts a bit, but I don’t rub anymore.

Could you post some more angles/ side shot? Thinking the same size for my truck.

Was looking at 285/70 but would rather go bigger
I have the 285/70 ridge grappler its a good all around tire not needing any Mods and tall enough at 33" they do good in Mud and handle very good, I have not had them in the Snow yet, but I will let you know shortly LOL it may be coming early this year keep those chains and yank straps handy
I have my crash bars and fender Skirts, everyone including the off road guys at the tire store recommend Wildpeaks
I have had Big 4x4s my whole life and many tires, I have a Jeep with low pressure monster mudder 35s you couldnt hear the radio and had a bounce to them but that was ok when I was in my 30s LOL mid 50s I want my radio yet I dont want to get stuck in the snow or mud....

Great example, it's always hard to know for sure what wheel tire, suspension/height combo will work out...
I ended up going with the BDS 3.5 lift, with full length Fox 2.5 Remote Reservoir DSC Coilovers in Front and Fox 2.5 Remote Reservoir piggy backs DSC's in rear. Fuel Covert's 17x9 +1 offset and 285/70 R17 Nitro Trail Grappler M/Ts for tires.
I love the set up and the DSC's (Dual Speed Compression) adjusters allow me to adjust the responsiveness of the shocks in the front and rear depending if I am offroading, hauling a load or trailer.
See pics below:

The ride is amazing and fully hand adjustable using the dual speed compression adjusters on each shock.
