I was wondering if a 3" lift on my 2WD would need a differential drop. Anyone with a similar height and drive train have any input? Im gonna be putting the 5100s with the 3" lift springs from eibach up front and a 1" block in the rear. Thank you

#JLC04 beat me to it, yes a diff drop is for the front differential, which a 2WD does not have. Second question, are 5100 even good enough for a 3 inch lift? Thought the only went to 2.5.

I'm missing something. Which is not uncommon! But why do a lift on a 2wd?

Could be to remove the rake.
He's putting a 1" block in back. Probably for bigger tires too. Should put in shackles instead of the block.

Yep,

Level, bigger tires, sometimes just for the look, or for better angles.

Some folks have 2WD trucks that they wheel the pants off of - rear locker or not. You’d be surprised at where they can take their 2WD trucks.

Thanks for the replies everyone. My main goal is to, yes, remove the rake and get some bigger tires in there for a better look/clearance. I do light off roading, mainly just camp sites and to go out to Sycamore (Arizona) for shooting and to bring the quads out. So just a bit more ground clearance would be ideal.

One of my buddies has done quite a bit of suspension work and recommended to add the eibach 3" springs so that I don't preload the stock springs and have an unpleasant ride quality. The 5100s will be set at stock height. I haven't ordered the blocks yet, but just curious why the shackles would be more beneficial? Thanks again

I got the fx2. Made a huge huge difference!! Don't need 4x4, but the rear locker gives me just what i need for the offroading i do. Never be without rear lockersagain. Plus still have cargo capacity for work!
