Anyone know if the FP tune will allow you to adjust for 265/70/18's? Seems to be conflicting info on this?

Thanks,

Paul

I believe the Ford Performance programmer is based on the Livernois Mycalibrator, which I am pretty sure allows for such adjustment.

Not really sure and a bit too lazy to dive deep into the threads about this. However, if you display your speed on the tuner it shows your actual speed, just a bit annoying to look at it but it gives you a relative gauge on how much faster your tires are going now vs what it used to be. This at least gives you a baseline comparison for speedometer vs actual speed.

You adjust the truck with Forscan and the new tire size. I don't think tunes are set up for different size tires. Forscan. I may be wrong???

Hey Mark,

Some of the tunes include tire calibration, many do not. There is also a stand-alone tire calibration device (HyperTech?). If the FP tune doesn’t have it, Paul can always use Forscan or pay the Ford dealership to change it for him.

My XLT's stock tires were a bit off on actual speed and after adding bigger tires - 32" / 275-65-18 , I used the Ford Performance tune and it's little box to adjust my revs.

Ended up being pretty close to what it was already set at. Adjusted a couple times to get it accurate as the math on tire sizes is different between brands and what the internet says to what they actually are. Use a GPS tracker to help you, a phone or bike computer or a gps unit to dial it in,

Bonus... I got a happy transmission and a snappy truck!

Yes. You will be able to adjust it using the programmer that comes with the tune. In fact you don't even have to have the tune installed to make this change. You will adjust using Revolutions Per Mile (Revs/Mile).

On my truck, I looked up my Revs/Mile for my tires on Tiresize.com by looking up my brand and size. I entered this value (example 637). I verified the speed using a GPS. I found it was slightly off and I adjusted (to 633) and it is perfect.

I used my FPP Tuner to calibrate my speedo ro my 285/70's Tire rack.com has the rpm's listed for most tires on their webpage. Their page got me close and was able to fine tune it to get me spot on.

Does the Ford Performance Tune take into consideration any other mods like Cat Exhaust... CAI... Downpipe etc... Or do you just add the Ford tune and go... vs other aftermarket performance tune company offerings that can be more specific?

Factory config only. Catback will not affect things but a CAI or Downpipe will mess with AFR's and tune is not setup for that. I would get a custom tune with those mods.

No adjustments on the Ford tune. If you want that you'll need a custom tune. I and several others have been very satisfied with Torrie @unleashed tuning
