2024 Ford Ranger XLT Spotted With Chrome, Rear Bumper Steps

There seems to be more and more uncovered '24 Rangers being spotted now it's getting closer to production. It looks like there'll be a chrome package and also a step on the rear bumper that many wanted to see.

This particular 2024 Ford Ranger XLT is finished in a darker color than previously-spotted versions on the outside, but the big story here is the abundance of chrome trim that adorns its flanks, indicating that the next-gen pickup may in fact be offered with some sort of chrome appearance package. This would make perfect sense given the fact that the 2023 Ranger is already available with what is officially called the Chrome Appearance Package, too. Out back, it’s also equipped with rear bumper steps, just like the Lariat pickup spotted last month. Otherwise, the styling details seen here are consistent with previous prototypes.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of them either, it doesn't have the curve around the wheel well like ours has. That rear step will come in handy especially with the uneven bed. ?

I have to agree that the steps are a nice addition and also agree that the new front fenders do not look as good as the current front fenders.

Now, Automotive News is reporting that this new Ford Ranger hybrid model – likely a plug-in hybrid, to be precise – is expected to join the lineup in 2025.

Good thing as I don't why the bed is so high. Ford obviosly discriminates against short people.

Here's a look at what appears to be the Sport Appearance package on another XLT. This at least breaks it up a little and looks better. Except that hideous front grille has to go.?

Ford Authority has spotted yet another example of the redesigned pickup – this XLT model that appears to be equipped with the Sport Appearance Package. It’s unclear if this 2024 Ford Ranger XLT is in fact equipped with the Sport Appearance Package, but the equipment that we can spot neatly lines up with what’s currently offered on the 2023 model. While it’s missing its running boards/rocker panels, the other tell-tale signs are in place and accounted for.
