Been here for a little bit, but just spotted this thread. Have ordered a Lightning Blue, Super Cab, Lariat, Chrome, Off Road 4x4 which is already posted. This is ranger number 4 for me. I have owned a 1986 reg cab, 1994 super cab, and currently drive a 2005 super cab. all had 3.0L v6's and autos. the new one will be close to twice the HP and torque. Can't wait. drove the first three 100K+, looking to put 200K on this one.

I will love to see that one. I'm very sure the Ranger will blow the doors off the Tacoma. It will be interesting for sure.

Those TFL Truck videos are more for entertainment I think rather than real "reviews". If they truly wanted a fair comparison, the same person would have driven each truck up the same obstacles. They each have different driving styles, took different lines, etc which skewed the results I think. It was still interesting to see, however.

Doug DeMuro says it goes 0-60 in 6.9 seconds! That's absolutely nuts for a midsize truck.

I like Doug's reviews but he is definitely not a truck guy. Knocking the truck for a rough ride and not being good enough off road (it's 2WD!!!). Cool to see a 2WD Supercab reviewed though, everyone else seems to have a 4WD variant.

Kinda confused here. He says the Ranger is "Shockingly Quick" and then gives it a 2 out of 10. For comparison, I just added in 0-60 for all midsize trucks. The Ranger is actually the 3rd fastest behind the GM twins.

Yeah his scoring made ZERO out of TEN sense to me.

His acceleration scores are based on all the cars he reviews (which includes Bugatti, Ferrari, Koenigseggs, etc). It isn't a comparison within the vehicle's market segment. A 10 in acceleration is 0-60 in under 3 seconds and a 1 is 7.1 seconds or higher
