The old Porsche 944 turbo was one of the worst. You'd be off the throttle and trying to brake by the time it decided to kick in and suddenly you're in the ditch. If any of these writers complain about turbo lag they need to go drive a first gen Subaru WRX with an AUTO transmission to put things in perspective.
You could basically go trade the WRX in for a Ranger and be in boost faster than the WRX could do it on its own.
Another example of a review by someone who doesn't fully know what they are talking about. He said the GM trucks (Colorado, Canyon) made their return in 2016. They actually returned in late 2014 with the 2015 model year. Small thing, but something he should have known. Otherwise, a good review.
you get the truck lifted 1" with the FX4 package? umm yaaaaThe first 'Ford guy' on the test drive is... questionable.
I ordered mine after I drove it, but before the reviews were in. WHEW!, I’m glad they liked it as much as I did.I did end up reading and watching all the reviews last night, and honestly, the items that most complained about were non issues to me. Turbo lag is turbo lag, but I didn't hear anyone complaining that it was that bad. Some reviewers seemed to have to try and find faults - like no soft open tailgate. If that is the worst you can find, ti has to be pretty darn good I'd day. The other interesting thing I heard was some were saying how quiet it was and others thought it was noisy - I guess that just shows "noise" is highly subjective.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at the reviews. I thought the Ranger came out REALLY well. I will be ordering mine before the weekend is out.
