with the stance of your truck variable with a million possible causes from road camber to passenger/cargo loading, there needs to be a big giant boxing glove installed in the dash to thump some people back into reality.

we arent running the Nuremberg trying to set speed records. most of us are thrashing to the grocery store or the hardware store, and trust me...no one notices the 3/4" lean you might have.
If you meant Nürburgring, I can see that it’s within allowable tolerances and I’ll accept it.

Guys. I just noticed my left testicle is hanging slightly lower than the right. I want to sue the doctor, but my wife is refusing to measure the difference for me.

(All in good fun! ? )

Lean to the right and they'll even out. Better yet, just walk around cupping your left one and hoisting it up a bit, and no one will notice. :giggle:

Hi Steve.

You brought up a very good point concerning tolerance stack up...

best,
Phil
Sure. But if it is a customer-facing tolerance, deviation means out of spec. In my industry, that means it should have been rejected for release. This is why we set tolerances.

To reiterate, I am not concerned about this and reported above just to confirm it on my build. I am unlikely to disassemble the rear suspension just to fix it, but if I had it apart one day I would be inclined to slip a shim in there….

Cosmetic - Yes , mechanical and safety? That will be a hard sell.

The question is, will the warranty cover it BEFORE you eat some crawfish ettoufe? I am from your neck of the woods. Crawfish cures most things, but I'm not sure about the lean. If anything it will lean more if you eat as much as I do.

A level just raises the front to level out from front to rear, not side to side.
You made me LOL Jason ???

Not yet. I don't want to go back to the original dealership. I had power running boards put on my truck by them and they tried to over charge me by $300. Needless to say I didn't pay it. And get this, these goofballs couldn't get the boards to suck up against the bottom of the truck in the front. Flushed in the back hanging 3/4" in front. I took it home and fixed them. Sorry, I get carried away with my text sometimes??

Coming from a guy that has owned 8 other Rangers from 1995-2011… You guys don’t even know how good we have it. Ranger lean used to be measured in multiple inches. Mine sits within .25 all the way around. Go measure any truck on the market and you’ll find they all have lean. At least ford did something. Class action lawsuit for .25-.5” ride height difference on 5th gens? That’s laughable. Unless it’s a safety concern/financial hardship for ranger owners no lawyer would touch it. Hell the class action lawsuit about swollen lug nuts on Fords was thrown out. You think a judge cares about a ride height difference on a truck depending on amount of fuel in a vehicle? Ask Ram owners about exhaust studs/bolts or Ram and Chevy guys about the engine failures from cylinder deactivation or the disasters that occurred with anyone that has owned a Ford 5.4 product… also thrown out in court.

Well .. I will let you all know what the dealer says. I am taking the truck in for a oil change next week. I listed the issue as part of a warranty concern.

a side note .. I bought the Ford trailer brake control , got 15% off and dealer took appointment at $100 install.
