12v Outlet Not Powering Down

Hi Folks,
I just installed a dashcam and ran the power cord down to my 12V outlets. Seems that the dashcam does NOT shut off when the engine is off. This will drain the battery.
How can I power the dashcam only when the engine is on?

It's factory set to shut off after two hours. If you have a laptop It's very easy to use forscan to change this setting. I set mine to one second after the key is turned off.

You can download it here: https://forscan.org/download.html

You will need a cheap adaptor to connect it to your obdII port under the steering column.
They are about 30 USD on Amazon or ebay.

Forscan is pretty handy. There's a lot of small tweaks you can make to your truck with it.

I have a dashcam. I just let it run a couple of hours. When I get in the truck in the morning, about 10 seconds after startup the dashcam announces, “GPS signal acquired.” So I know that it had shutdown.
