Yeah, there’s more to the story here. They wanted him gone. His high salary accrued over time, but it doesn't mean he continued to be a good employee.

They offered him his job back to try and squall the ADA lawsuit that I am sure it's coming. That was my first thought too. I figured they were looking for a way to get rid of their high salary employees and this was it but then they offered him his job back. Either way it's pretty sad a company would do this regardless but there's obviously no loyalty now.
For 42 years I always brought my lunch to work along with a gallon (or two) of water in the summer. I was mostly on a construction site where nothing else was available. And no, I wouldn't eat the food from those Roach Coach's either.![]()
That's very possible. There are hundreds, if not thousands of people graduating from college with mechanical and electrical engineering degrees. Most can't find a job to saturation in the workplace.I didn’t read the whole story, but that’s definitely possible. Nobody cares about their employees anymore. Everyone is disposable and if they can find a person or machine to replace you that doesn’t cost them as much money, they won’t even think twice. They don’t care if you’ve been there for 15 years and have a family to feed, this new AI program they just bought is going to save them some money at the end of the year.
“Sorry Jimmy, but we can’t afford to keep you anymore. You’ve been here for three decades and your work ethic is unmatched but this new program can do four times the work you do for half the price. Bye now!”
Don't get me started on medicine. The pharmaceutical industry is just one big drug dealer who has a pill for everything yet a cure for nothing. It's a multi billion dollar industry who has no reason to cure anyone because a patient cured is a customer lost. Just look at the side effects from every single drug they have on tv now. Most are worse than what you're trying to cure. Just about everything they tell you is a lie.Healthcare / medicine is just as bad, if not worse for the way it treats its people.
Buddy of mine just went through the same thing with Warner Music. They offered him early retirement several years before he was planning to retire, but he took it because he knew that if he didn't, he'd just be RIF'd a couple of months later. That's very possible. But this is nothing new. When I worked manufacturing, there were 2 types targeted when layoffs came around.
The first was the easiest. Check hours billed vs hours that you were actually there. Any discrepancies found was immediate termination for time fraud. You can't beat that one in court.
The second was they approached all the elder workers and offered a severance if they accepted early retirement. If you didn't, you'd probably get laid off anyway (without the severance package)
Little over 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome. Before that, they didn't know what was wrong with me and so they ran a camera through my heart. Idk if it was intentional but I woke up in the middle of it. I remember the Dr telling me everything was clean and I had no build up.Don't get me started on medicine. There are many studies out there (see one below) showing that people who are on statins and have low cholesterol have a higher mortality rate than those with higher cholesterol who tend to live longer. There is zero correlation between high cholesterol and heart disease yet they conveniently don't tell you that sugar is the number one reason. My doctor back east told me 17 years ago if I didn't get my cholesterol numbers down I'd have a stroke within 2 years. It was only 250! I then showed him my CAC score which shut him up. No plaque is what you want. There are so many natural homeopathic ways do treat things which work with zero side effects and are much safer than some synthetic drug. *rant over*

A lot of times high cholesterol is genetic but that doesn't mean it's deadly. The Cat score is the most important and will tell you if there's blockage in your arteries. Taking away too much cholesterol is bad for your health and will cause dementia and Alzheimer's.Little over 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome. Since then I've been seeing a cardiologist every year and every year my cholesterol is high. Doesn't get higher but consistently the same #s. He says he doesn't think it's an issue and it's probably just "normal" for me. I do try to stay active and I watch what I eat. So he isn't to concerned. My GP keeps "threatening" me with medication.
My mom also has high cholesterol. She walks 5 to 10 miles a day every morning. She eats relatively healthy and is in pretty good shape for being in her 60s. She cut out all red meat, amongst other things and her cholesterol didn't get any lower. Her GP is now giving her meds.
Last month I saw my cardiologist and told him about my mom. He feels it's possible it's just genetic and he doesn't see a need for me or my mom to be on meds. To make sure all is fine, he sent me to get a cat scan of my heart. Idk how or the details but it'll show him if my high cholesterol is causing any build up. Results came back that I'm good to go. So no reason for meds. I wish my mom's Dr did the same for her instead of just throwing medication at her.
I'll be talking to her about getting this cat scan.
I know, right? I know this guy who took like eight or nine months just to research and pick out backsplash tiles.A lot of times high cholesterol is genetic but that doesn't mean it's deadly. I hope your mom listens to you because like you I tied talking my dad out of meds but he's just too stubborn. He takes a pill for everything (I'm not joking) and eats terrible, honestly I can't believe he's still alive at 85. My mom is like me and at 82 takes zero pills, has elevated cholesterol and still moves around great, has no aches or pains and goes to the gym 4-5 days a week. She refuses any meds too and her Dr tried scaring her with statins and she told him the same thing I told my Dr about het calcium score and he actually agreed with her. If people sat down and researched these meds more they'd be shocked. Funny because some will research a new iPhone, tv or shocks more but just take their Drs word that this pill is going to help you with zero research.![]()
I have no idea who he is. Our tile was ordered on December 27 and was backordered until April 7. Since we moved here on October 30th and didn't start looking for tile until after Thanksgiving I'd say 1 month of looking was pretty good at finding it.I know, right? I know this guy who took like eight or nine months just to research and pick out backsplash tiles.Hmm, what was his name, again?

It must have been the lengthy “In-Process“ wait time I was thinking of. I remember seeing some of the tile choices back in November and then it was finalized in May, I think? It’s a good thing you did make your choice as quickly as you did.I have no idea who he is. Our tile was ordered on December 27 and was backordered until April 7.
