The report says "where the front lower control arm ball joints may have been incorrectly installed or repaired "

Could be that it wasn't torqued properly, or that the ball joint isn't seated correctly in the LCA.

I recently had a recall on my Kubota RTV. The upper ball joint bolts were never tightened and the front wheels could flop over causing death or dismemberment 😲. Do not drive warning. Apparently they had a torque tool that wasn't calibrated for over a year 😬. Mine were definitely loose. Post pandemic quality is affecting all manufacturers, not just Ford.

if I remember correctly you had quite a few issues with the RTV, hopefully all the issues were fixed (on kubotas dime).

After learning from @P. A. Schilke about some of the tech built into assembly line tools to track use, time of use, etc., this kind of thing shouldn’t be happening.

Incorrectly installed or repaired. Trying to wrap my head around the word repaired. Does this mean after the incorrectly installed was incorrectly installed again they had to reinstall it again the correct way. 🤔

Sounds like it! At this point I'd want to get it fixed at my own shop because obviously they're too incompetent to fix it right after two attempts.

Now ask yourself, If you went to the Dr and he messed up your procedure and then messed it up again would you let him try and fix it a third time

Maybe Ford should tie some of these assembly line errors to their next UAW negotiations. If they were errors made by people, dock their pay....

That was the first one and they couldn't fix it so eventually they took it back (I sent emails to all the corporate officers in Japan that seemed to help get things moving finally) . I paid the difference and went with a diesel RTV replacement. The diesel one sucks also. Will only go 18 mph max on level blacktop and they said it's normal even though it's advertised to do 25 mph. Dealer didn't want to mess with it because you give it more speed but loose the low end torque and it can barely make it up my back hill anyway. Post pandemic quality with excuses again. That's why I just bought a Kioti tractor and Huayee excavator instead of another Kubota machine after years of being loyal to the brand. Not one problem with the Kioti or Huayee yet.
