  1. FORD says "Do Not Drive..."

I've been driving Ford products for 50 years, perfect? No, far from it, but as far as major problems that left me stranded or needing a loaner.....never. Watching friends and relatives with GM, dodge, even Japanese, I'd have to say my Ford products logged more time in the parking lot at work...
  2. FORD says "Do Not Drive..."

Refusing to fix a brake system failure seems to be more heinous than "go" problem. We put our own "Do not drive" on the Buick after she had to slam on the brakes on the freeway and could not get the pedal back off the floor, with traffic bearing down on her from behind at 70mph. Ford DOES have a...
  3. FORD says "Do Not Drive..."

At least Ford owns up to a recall, my experience with GM is really bad, MIL's 2015 Buick Regal, occasionally the brakes GO TO THE FLOOR you have to use your toes to get behind pedal and pull it back up, and they will work normally again. Because the car still stops when condition occurs, GM...
  4. Tacoma reliability

Owner claims it has 40k miles on it, at which time the engine made un-toyota like noises and started producing chocolate milk the depths of the oil pan....sayonara. I just have no love for toyota products.
  5. Tacoma reliability

This Toyota tacoma is so reliable, it has been holding down t his patch of gravel for 14 years with ZERO maintenance, owner claims it hasn't cost him a dime in ownership costs in all those years ( tags, insurance included) current occupants (mice) agree, toyota is the best!
  6. New Guy

Nice looking Ranger! Love the color. Since the light bar isn't hooked up, lose it, I cringe when I see people blocking airflow through the front end of turbo charged vehicles. You came to a great place to learn about Rangers.
  7. Ford, GM Could Be About to Make Weapons for the First Time Since WW2

Note to Ford and GM, this isn't going to be nearly as easy as slapping together B-24s on re-tooled auto assembly line.
  8. Boat ramp troubles

Well, its a damn good thing there were no witnesses or cameras.
  9. Boat ramp troubles

C'mon! The cold makes you feel alive! Nothing like 44 degrees water on 38 degrees day with 10mph north wind pushing white caps on the lake.
  10. Boat ramp troubles

Temps in high 30s, wading around in water is not my idea of making a "splash" The army corp of engineers needs to start holding some frikkin water back in these reservoirs.
  11. Boat ramp troubles

Towed the 16ft boat to a "somewhat" local reservoir to get in on the hot, spring trout fishing, launching was uneventful, however retrieval was NOT.....Very low water levels meant lousy gravel/mud ramp, ( used to be the logging road when lake was built) getting boat back on trailer after about...
  12. OEM Ford Battery Life vs Static Voltage

My issues with being in battery save mode and no remote features, vanished when I parked the F250, and actually started DRIVING IT EVERY DAY.
  13. 10R80....Are they all ticking time bombs?

My company 21 F150 4x4 gets the 1st gear clunk sporadically, once it was so hard, I thought the camry behind me had rear ended me.
  14. What did you do to your Ranger today?

My 22 Got 26mpg on a trip last summer, wife was driving, and following me in the class C motorhome, loafing along at 55-60 mph, I was fairly impressed but I have seen 23-24 mpg on long interstate runs at considerably higher speeds.
  15. New, old guy.

3.0 V6 5spd, it was great little truck.
  16. New, old guy.

I think my favorite old Ranger was the 84, 2.8 V6, 5spd 4x4 with 7ft bed and DUAL tanks, it had range to get there, and would go anywhere. Miss that antique.
  17. Which window rain guards?

I got the weather techs, never a issue, and they are a must have in Oregon.
  18. China copy cat

Maybe Harbor Freight tools will be a dealer for these things, it breaks, bring it back for a free replacement!....(with receipt) Hint: Get the extended warranty.
  19. 10R80....Are they all ticking time bombs?

I'm watching the company's fleet of 14 F150s, they range from 2018 to 2023 with 2.7s so far none have had and trans issues, there's been a bad turbo and a few odd sensors and one guy had his catalytic converter stolen, but none of these F150s have over 75,000 miles yet, so it's not a great...
  20. 10R80....Are they all ticking time bombs?

My company 21 F150 has a definite "thunk" dropping to first at a stop sign, but otherwise flawless, my 22 Ranger is silky smooth all the time, and it has done its share of towing a boat in spring/summer so I may invest in proactive trans service at the Ford dealer where it gets its maintenance.
