My 2 cents...long term, some of these companies that start out great run can into problems whether their fault or not, and customer service/tech support can drop of the cliff. I don't have a tune, but I'm not sure if I planned to keep the truck a long time (several years) that I would put one on it - you never know where that company will be in 5 years, if they exist at all...
I'm not 100% positive, but I'm like 95% sure that the Ford Performance tune was done by Livernois - Your concern is warranted for sure, but in this case, I don't think Livernois is going anywhere. They are a pretty reputable company and have been around since 1949. I've been very happy with my tune and the support they've given me.

I've had mine tuned since 2021@1000miles. I change my oil every 10k, trans fluid drained, filled and filter replaced at 77k, replaced plugs at 70k I think and somewhere in between all that I drained and filled the diff fluid. 99% of the time it's been on the 87/89tune. I'm at 108k now.

Few months ago I added a mprb exhaust, mountune intercooler and a gfb diverter.

I didn’t know that- excellent information. If I ever do install a tune I will look at them first - thank you.

That's too bad, it sounds like they're CS is like everyone else now...BAD!

When I got my tune for my '19 they were great to deal with and always had someone knowledgeable to answer the phone. I had a couple questions while uploading my stock tune to my friends Windows computer (I have a Mac) and they pushed my tunes right back to it within an hour so I didn't have to wait. They even had someone there on Saturday 'till noon.

Wonder if you could use your Mac with virtual windows?

IIRC you could but at the time it was easier for me to use my friends Windows laptop. I figured it was a one time thing and I'll never use it again. I've been using a Mac for so long (20+ years) I'd be lost trying to use Windows now. lol

It would have to be an older Intel Mac.

The new Apple Silicon Macs won't run X64 Windows without Parallels Virtualization.

Parallels can run X64 Windows in a VM but USB support is limited to USB devices with ARM drivers.

It most likely won't work with the Livernois tuner.

I've been doing a lot of experimentation with ARM Windows lately

ARM Windows has an X64 emulation layer but it can be spotty.

Some X64 apps work some work slowly, and some won't even launch.

Edit: I'll connect my Livernois tuner to my ARM Windows laptop tomorrow and see if it works.

If it won't work with an ARM Windows, it certainly won't work with an ARM Mac emulated Windows.

Well I am underwhelmed. Sent Livernois an email a week ago with some questions and haven’t heard back. Normally I would not post a complaint but considering their website says they will get back to you in 1-2 days.
Will update this thread with how long before I hear back. I contacted them to see if I need updated tunes after transmission CDF drum replacement.

Stay tuned.(pun intended)

I did this a few months back. I requested tunes for a new transmission rebuild. They replied back, within that week, that none was needed. So I called to make sure. Answered the phone and explained everything to me.

My experience with speed shops are they they don't have many people just sitting on the phone or computer. It is what it is. That's why you'll always have mixed reviews on customer service.

Futral motorsports here in Louisiana is pretty well known for great builds and the owner knowing his stuff... The negative? He can have a bit of an attitude and can be hard to get ahold of. Same with old owner of Thunder Racing. Dude knew his stuff but as time went on he just started having a huge attitude with customers. Him and his wife did the right thing and hired a customer service crew. More should follow that.

So I heard back within 48 hours as the auto response said.

Here is the response:

So my recommendation from our tuner tech is to drive it stock for a little bit, check the fluids, add what is necessary and reflash the tune on the vehicle. As long as the strategy didn't change you won't need a re-tune, otherwise if it says incompatible vehicle, you will submit a new tune request

Based on their response I loaded the tune and did not get incompatible vehicle.

Will be good to run with the tune again since I removed it months ago to see how the truck really shifted before I got it fixed.

Your experience mirrors mine from years ago. Sad thing they are one of the few that can tune the 26 explorer st we just got. Think I'll wait longer for the Ford tune.
