A friend of mine sent this to me who lives up in Goodyear (Canta Mia area) which borders the desert. They were walking down the street the other day and came across this rattler and squirrel on a face to face stand off. He had his large walking stick and was trying to get the snake away which he finally did. That's a good size rattler and I think I'd have let the snake have his lunch rather than chance getting bitten.

Very nice Dave but if you don't add a tailgate dampener to your list of planned mods, @AzScorpion, another Dave, he will be very disappointed.

Do you know maintenance history?
If not I would change all fluids including oil, transfer, transmission (including filter), differentials and coolant also maybe brake fluid.
Enjoy the truck, but take care of it.

Went to my first Coffee and Rigs GTG Sat. Wanted to check it out and maybe network with some local people more experienced with off-road adventures here in the area. And also do that thing normal humans do...socialize lol . It was cool, nice people, smaller turn out than normal. More showed up after I snapped a few pics.

After the GTG I went for a little bike ride since the weather was amazing!!

They had a giveaway raffle, and since the turnout was smaller than usual, I actually won something. It was a pass to Red Rock Canyon State Park in Hinton, OK which was perfect as I am taking vacation at the end of the month and wanted to do a little exploring .

Took the Cherokee into the GSMNP near the house on Saturday. Amazing day hiking/fishing. Put 7 miles on the new knee. Broke in my new dedicated Brook Trout Rod/Reel.

Caught 15 stunning Southern Appalachian Brook Trout. Only native trout in the Smokies.
