The dual zone seems more like a gimmick to me. There is no wall going down the center of the cab dividing it into two zones. Any extra heat or cooling directed to one side quickly blends with the other side.

Well said. Never did understand the logic in that dual zone stuff.

Just throwing my 2 cents in here, but my truck, including my feet, is plenty warm. It's probably the most effective HVAC system I've had in a vehicle. I can actually feel the air blowing against my feet/legs and warming them up. I've never felt that before in previous vehicles. It's always been an ambient air sort of warming for my feet before, which always sucked since my extremities get very cold and take a lot to warm up.

I have an XLT with the dual zone stuff BTDubs.

Also, it was -16F around here yesterday morning. Not necessarily related, just throwing it out there since others were. haha

Last night around 1800 hrs, it was about 20 degrees outside. I remote started it and let it sit for 5 mins. Got in, it was toasty and the seat warmer was on. Was in there with a t-shirt...

Do your heated seats come on with the remote start? Mine don't seem to come on until I get in and turn the key. Checked manual (pg. 122) and it says they only come on "when you switch the ignition on" Maybe a Lariat thing (?) as I have XLT dual zone

I have an XLT dual zone also, and the heated seats do come on when remote staring.

My heated seats don't come on with remote start until I get in and hit the start button...kinda pointless to have them with remote start...fail / lack of common sense on Ford's part. My 13 Ram's heated seats automatically came on when it got below 35* F....weather I had them on before or not.

I don't turn them on. Remote start and below a certain temp, they are on by themselves. Maybe its a Lariat thing?

After testing my “drastic measures” to heat the cab faster, they have proven unsuccessful.
The under-seat floor vents barely put out any air flow and take longer for the air to get warm, much slower than the under-dash vents.
So I removed my diverting hose and put both under-seat vents back to stock.
Carry on.

When I turn on the face and feet airflow, I don't get feet at all, but if I select just feet, it works fine. If I select defrost and feet I can feel some air by my feet if I reach down with my hands to feel it, but it's definitely not enough to warm up my feet. Anyone talked with their dealer yet about this? I'm probably going to be contacting mine soon because not having warm feet in the winter sucks!

See, that's what I mean! When you switch from face to face/feet, the volume from the face vents is greatly reduced but that reduction does not show up by coming out of the floor vents. It just makes noise behind the dash! I spoke with my dealer about it and I just for the "that's just how it is" runaround.

What could go wrong there lol I can't comment on the heat part but the ac will just about freeze me out of the cab. We will get a few cold nights usually in January or early February where it will dip into the upper 20's low 30's but lucky those are far and few between. You need to move out from that frozen tundra down here where it's nice and warm.

Did the 109 mile trip between McCall and Meridian last weekend, temp in the teens and 20's. With fan on the lowest speed and heat on feet was warm enough for me with occasionally turning to feet and body to warm my hands. Feet used to get cool in my old Forester in those conditions.

I do agree that there is an awful lot of blower motor noise and not the matching amount of air coming out.. it’s like a Honda Civic with the exhaust chopped off, it’s loud but it ain’t fast. I’ve gotten use to it but still think more air should come out considering it sounds like a tornado in the dash.

I just barely traded my Focus ST last week and definitely notice the difference in airflow...I had no issues with feet/face airflow at the same time in the Focus, but it's about to get to 5-20 degrees max here this week, would like to have some body+foot heat at the same time in the Ranger, and not have to constantly alternate!

The passenger side floor heater throws
