I am the other tank @Goyo86 installed. Love it. No issues helps with range, once again modded suspension so not sure on lean. It’s been flawless for me, install was long even with his second time but he has the kinks worked out.
Makes me a bit jealous to say the least. I still wish I was able to fit that one 4 years ago!! It would have been awesome to have that extended range. At the same time it would give me the ability to cry at the pump!!

Alright I decided I am going to spring for it. It's not cheap but it's really my ONLY frustration with this truck and the only thing that makes me want to buy something else (well OK I wish it was manual too, but that's for another day). $2k mod is a lot cheaper than something new especially with all the other mods I've done. - the only question now is whether or not I should have someone else install it or if I should grit through and take care of it. Those of you that have done it, what do you recommend? Unfortunately the "recommended installers" are about a ~3 hour drive from me.

I already have Deaver leaf packs, and OME Nitrocharger shocks (but I sure do lust after BP51's). So I don't have any concerns about the additional weight on the truck.

I was with Greg during the installation, and... its really not that hard. You need to cut some lines to reuse fittings, and deciphering their terrible directions is the worst part. It's mostly R&R with some rehosing. Given your other build thread, I think you should be just fine doing it.

well... I feel you there. I can tell you, I was prepared to do it on my garage floor, which I could have done, but I am glad we had the lift to do it.

The hoses in my kit were not labelled, even though the directions said they would be. The hardest part was deciphering between two similar but slightly different hoses.

How about from an electronics standpoint, does the sender still work fine? Do you need to calibrate the amount in forscan or anything?

You do need to update the tank size in for scan. It’s a very simple change. The only thing to note is that the gauge will read full for almost 200 miles before it starts to go down. It’s scary the first time because you think you broke something, but it works without issue.

Don't know how I missed this thread! I have a LRA tank as well. The LRA guys in Boise installed my tank. I love the range I get out of it, average around 600 per tank (I let it run pretty low). There is only about 1/4" difference in ride height on the drivers side, when the tank is full (tremor suspension). The convenience and safety of not having to pack around extra fuel cans is worth it, IMO.

but I sure do lust after BP51's
FYI from an email I had with ARB 1.5 weeks ago:
Hello, at this time, we no longer have a BP51 option for the ford Ranger. Those have been discontinued (there had been fitment issues on those, they were going to redesign, but sounds like that project has been put on a permanent hold unfortunately. That could change in the future, but at this time, no updates on that).

There are plenty of ways to mitigate that. The proper suspension parts make a huge difference. Just ask the Australians about it. When you are one to travel remote for long periods of time, it is common to do stuff like this.

I will also add that for Australia they have to meet the ADR Compliance for certain things like this for Road Safety. ADR Compliance is a bit.kore strict than US DOT. Keep that in mind.
Well, from what I've determined the ROW Rangers had about ~1000lb more payload (~100lb more at the front axle and ~900lb at the rear axle) than the NA market. I'm really thinking of looking into what all was different or if it was just the springs. Main reason I've not looking into a camper shell is the payload limits of the NA Ranger. Unless I'm pulling my wife's Jeep the GCWR of about 12,500lb is not the limit I'm reaching, and if I recall right the ROW Ranger's GCWR is still close to 12,500lb.

If you’re not going to use the capacity all the time, why is this better than just carrying a couple of 5 gallons on the occasion that range is a concern.
this tank filled 3/4 is still a lot more range than stock

This year I towed a 16ft camper trailer cross country over 4000mi round trip going to Burning Man. With my lift, tires, etc.... I was averaging 11mpg. Having to stop every 120 miles with the factory tank was an absolute NIGHTMARE for 4 days of driving each way, especially in some remote places out west where gas was few and far between the stress was real. I had to end up carrying a few 5 gallon cans in the bed just to make it which stole a lot of priceless cargo room.

Never, ever doing that again. The LRA tank is an absolute must for me. I plan to order ASAP and have it professionally installed.

Problem was when the Ranger was designed here for the world market (other than NA) it was designed with a range of diesel engines in mind primarily. Thus the smaller tank wasn't an issue as even when towing, diesels normally have significantly better mpg than petrol engines, also apart from Australia and perhaps Africa in most of the world you are never that far from a fuel source. So once again not a problem. Even when travelling outback towing a van, all I've ever need to do was carry an additional jerry can or two. Whereas my old Bronco had a 121 litre tank from the factory and I found I also needed to carry up to 4 cans for longer trips with a petrol engine.
Then when you guys started producing it with the ecoboost the issue of the smaller tank became obvious.

The new 2026 Ranger Super Duty in Australia now comes standard with a 130L fuel tank. I wonder if it can be adapted to our USA rangers as an alternative option to the LRA tank. I haven't yet purchased the LRA because of how it sticks down 1.5 inches over stock. I do a lot of off-roading here in Texas and it's quite rocky. I'm not sure how that will do being lower.

Probably not. I say this because of the slight chassis difference of the PX3 Ranger to the 5th Gen in the States. I got to see how close and hey how different the Chassis was 5 years ago with LRA. Why is it different? Because this is Ford Motor Company Where We Have Better Ideas Than You and We Know It!
