Maybe, but I'm never going to change my own transmission fluid, so this is all it will be used for.
If you’re not going to touch your transmission after adding Lubegard platinum then I’d suggest buying a fluid extractor and suck out some transmission fluid and add the Lubegard to replace what you took out.

Lubegard says add 1oz per quart in the transmission so 13oz of ATF out and 13oz of lubegard in.

here’s a vacuum pump I got for the job

Not what they mean by that.
For clarification @ctechbob is correct. Lubeguard's packaging is not clear but their website goes into better detail. Having had a local chain put universal Dexron in my properly filled 10R80 I managed to hand pump out almost 3 quarts and add back two of ULV with the last 2-ish ounces of LP. I know it's trivial amounts but on top of other screwups by the same shop I did it for my own piece of mind. I have a long distance trip coming up and don't want to tempt fate with the transmission.

I sucked out 7qts of coal black ULV (in only 18K miles - bought truck new) and replaced with 6qts ULV and a bottle of LubeGard Platinum.

I had 2 trips of 1,500 miles of interstate driving ahead of me, so I drove the truck heavily for two months just to get my courage and confidence up that the truck could make the trips. Those two months and both trips went uneventful.

Honestly, I had to build my wife's trust in the truck up more than my own. But I had become jaded as well.

After reading this thread I think a summer project for me will be pulling the oem fluid and adding new fluid plus lubeguard platinum.

I’m at 52k miles and no horror stories yet. Couple minor comments, I had the dealer reset the adaptive learning 20k miles ago to smooth the shifting and I replaced the EGR sensor about 1 year ago this spring when I was starting to experience some trans hesitation. Generally, I find if I let the transmission warm up when it’s cold outside I have no clunks or bumps.

I have the Fitzstick but no way to read trans temp so I felt like I was always guessing if I was at correct temps when trying to read the fluid level. At least with the suck the fluid out method, I just put back the same amount of oz. that I got out. That removes some of the variables. The only thing thata fluid change like this really wouldn’t answer is if the factory amount of fluid I have is satisfactory or is under filled.

That's a million dollar question, especially for anyone with the factory dip stick. Nobody's going to check their fluid properly with that thing!

I still don’t like it when they take my Ranger behind the far wall where I can’t see it so I just have to trust that they are doing the work I want done and not just sitting back there playing Spades or surfing the internet while blasting pre recorded garage like noises (wrenches falling, impact guns, etc) to make me think they are actually working. I actually question my service writer on what they are about to do. So far, in just over five years and 150,000 miles, they must be doing what I want or I’m very lucky. I had the recommended transmission “flush” done at 95,000 and a just drain and fill at 150,000. It goes in every 5000 for whatever it needs and the only broke/fix at 148,000 was the driveshaft center bearing. He has told me both times that they get the transmission up to proper temperature and check the fluid level at that point. I had them check it when they were replacing the drive shaft and it was right on full and even sent me a picture of the level. They even recorded the drive shaft replacement work too. So far I am happy with their service and hope to stay happy…

Yeah, it is completely out of view when they take my truck back too. I sometimes mark the tires to make sure they get rotated. I have been going to the same dealer for years and overall am pretty happy. The worse was when it was in trans flush, they overfilled it and left the sway bar loose. But they made good on it.

Oh yeah, I’ve done the tire mark thing too. That’s the only complaint I would have against Ford dealer so far. The original tires only went 36,000 miles which I expected better than that. I put Coopers on at that mileage and they wore out at 78,000. I put Falken tires on at that mileage and they only went to 117,000 miles. I don’t think they ever got the alignment right after they installed the leveling kit. I had Michelins put on at that mileage and took it to the four wheel drive place in Va Beach, had it properly aligned, and installed Bilstiens all around. The tires are wearing flat across and not even half worn at 32,000 miles. So when Ford asks me if I want them to check alignment, NO, do not touch it. And I had Discount Tire “road force balance“ the Michelins and no bounce even at 75 on the interstate.

I have Michellins right now too. They're right about at 31k and show plenty of tread. Handle fantastic too, I even pushed snow with them.

I went two sizes taller, I think it looks better.
I went one over, at the time I think it was the biggest without any mods. Whatever, they look and handle great.
Did you recalibrate your speedometer?

No, I didn’t touch it. Not sure how much it may be off but I don’t speed anymore.

With one size bigger, mine was off, I can't remember how much maybe 2MPH. Can't remember if it read high or low either. Might want to consider it. I am guessing you could be around 5MPH or so off.
