Hello guys. I"m new to this forum. I own a 2019 ranger 4 x4 that just had a leveling kit yesterday. New wheels and tires this weekend then I'll post a few pictures. I also have a 2006 mustang gt that"s always a handful. My F-150 has a kit a purchased way back that allowed me to add dual shocks on the rear. Anyone heard of a kit like that for 2019 ranger?

Welcome Ron.

Sounds interesting - first I’ve read about someone considering it for their Ranger. Curious to see what others say.

You know, I can’t help but think that if it was dual FX4 shocks, it would be twice as bouncy and twice as many folks would complain about them twice as much.

Are you sure that dual shocks are needed on the rear?

Many companies offer better rear shocks and rear springs, but I am not aware of a dual shock kit.

Honestly, the factory FX4 shocks are a steaming bowl of crap and a vast improvement can be had by simply putting Eibachs or Bilsteins on the rear. It's the best $200 you can spend on your rear suspension.

Even more improvement available by replacing the rear monoleaf spring with a multi-leaf spring.

HERE are some rear shock options available.

And HERE are some available leaf spring upgrades.

You can also watch the classifieds here and get a good deal on a lightly used set.

Back in the day, I put dual front shocks on the front of my Bronco. In the 80's, serious off road shocks were hard to find or very expensive. I could hit speed bumps at 60 MPH and barely feel it. Dual on the rear may be worth it for frequently hauling heavy loads off road frequently, like overlanding but shock quality today is very good. A pair of Eibach Pro Trucks on the rear of my FX4 made a bid difference.

The Fx4 shocks are so bad I couldn't give mine away for free when I changed them out to Eibach. lol

You'd be better off with a set of 70's air shocks than those pogo sticks.

very cool guys and thank you for the responses. new wheels and tires are going on this weekend. I may try using a better shock on the rear but let me see how it rides with the new size tires first. Thanks again guys.
