I posted this before but usually those serp belt pulleys can be cleaned and regreased and I will do so at some point. With the Saab 9-5s I owned maintenance scheduled called for pulley replacements at 60k miles, but I would regrease them, also not a bad idea to check the tensioner itself for visible signs of weakening tension - if weak can create irregular movements, straining the assembly.
You can buy both Motorcraft pieces on Rock Auto for under $90 . Might want to be a “scheduled “ replacement if you getting up there in mileage.
Or at least have spare while you repack the bearing of the original, then swap out, and repeat.
Yes this works, I have a ride on mower that is no longer made and it has an odd sized belt tensioner pulley which would be hard to find if the bearing failed. So whenever I change the belt now I just pop out the rubber seal with a pick, and push in some good quality grease. This bearing is still going after 13 years and many, many, hours of mowing.
Hmmmm. Now you got me worried cause I’m at 148,500 miles on this Ranger. I go in for the new drive shaft Tuesday so I may ask about this.

The 2019 engines were probably built with PRECOVID manufactured parts. Before QC went to S#@T.
Before you talk about QC, should I remind you about the warp to HVAC box in the good old CDF drum in the transmission? What about that rubber hose in the fan clutch?
I'm talking about this particular issue with this particular part. This vehicle is built with many parts from many vendors. All of whom have their own problems. Let's not lump them all into one problem.
Not yet. It was taking time to get all the parts in, plus being Christmas week it is taking longer than normal. The Service tech has not said how long it is actually going to take to complete the repair, but it is at least going to cost $4k. I love my Ranger, but between transmission being very jumpy and always seeming to be searching for what gear to me in, and now this. Not sure I would recommend anyone buying one. Unfortunately Ford has become notorious with ignoring current transmission issues and hoping to address it in newer models (Example Ford Focus and Fiesta, till this day they have never resolved those issues).
