Glad I always use the parking brake regardless. Why would they only inspect the reman transmissions that have fewer than 8,000 miles though?

I got rough shifting and it can roll away now. Lol
only if your trans was replaced with a manufactured unit.
Also, this is only if you have less than 8000 miles on your 4-8 year old transmission. Ford needs to unfuck themselves in this and actually recall the 10r80 and fix them right.

I second this. My reman has 12k on it now, but I would rather it be inspected anyways, since I always use the parking brake

Amazing. Ford can’t design or make transmissions, and they can’t even fix them right either. 10r80, focus/fiesta DCT, and I’m sure a lot more. Hilarious they will recall the remanufactured ones but not the originals that are bad. I’m truly in the camp that believes buying American means getting screwed.

Agree, should always use "Parking Brake", this takes or helps to take vehicle weight off of the parking pawl if you do it correctly. Glad to see that you do, I see so many that don't. It use to be called "Emergency Brake" and I think some have that carry over from older days.

When my dad and I rebuilt the transmission on the Camry I had in high school, I got to see that parking pawl and never trusted them since. It was a handy habit, as my last truck was a stick shift, so I never had to walk out with it in a new parking spot than I left it in.
