Ford Service says repair will be likely completed tomorrow. Ford Customer Service says I'm to submit rental paperwork when I pick it up so they can submit a claim for the rental I paid out of pocket for. So things are winding down. I'll post paperwork so we can all know what broke specifically.

I test drove a Ridgeline with a friend who was looking for his first truck and liked it. The 4' bed was a downside for me. But reliability is beginning to trump functionality for me.

I am creative and stubborn enough to stay the course with the Ranger, but honestly, I've put way too much time and money into the truck and still only see modest returns on my investment. I've got a couple of more cards to play, but if I don't see improvements I'll be unloading it and replacing it with an older rebuilt auto.

My 2005 Ranger doesn't get the MPG, but it has proven itself to be reliable. I don't even think about it. I just start it and go about my business.

Update: I just checked out the 2026 models and they have all the same nanny / greenie nonsense that my Ranger has... Gonna have to pass on it at ~$45K+. I think that I am going to go back in time to find my next new car. 1950's - 2000 Model Year (minus the 1973-1985). and Find a model that is well maintained with modern drive train and brakes.

I think I am done with modern vehicles.
My 2005 Ranger Edge 4x4 is still on the road today. They were well made trucks. Loved that 05'

Great news! But I gotta ask, Does everyone crawl out the passenger door of the Ranger? Looks real close to the garage wall... :)
It is close, but not so close I can't get out. Door opens to the first notch and doesn't touch the wall. This is not my first choice of parking arrangements, but Jeanie doesn't like it when I park on the small side because the truck is right close to the laundry room door. She doesn't like parking the car on the small side because she stresses too much about hitting the doorframe wit the mirrors either backing in or out, and with good reason. Backing up with mirrors is NOT her strong suit. So we do it this way 😕

I get it! My wife did just what your bride was worried about while parking my 2005 Ranger, skinned the front bumper against the garage door frame. I do the same and installed these door jam guards to protect the garage walls and car doors.

I only put one 6' row up. Keeps the door off the brick foundation.

How did you get the Taco stench out of the drywall?
It's putrid for sure.
Maybe a few buckets of Killz and a new coat of paint will help?
