Not at all. Pushing the ASS button is part of my pre-flight ritual. I hate that particular function.
You and me both Chris @Chris M, I'm so old school that is the first button that I push after start up, I like to hear it run.

And of course the only rental vehicle left today at the local Enterprise Car Rental site is........

A Tacoma.

But at least I'm not walking, so that's a blessing.
Not to sound biased but my 3 Tacoma's and 7 years of ownership they were in the shop less than this 2019 Ranger was in the 1st 6 months of ownership. (4 times for transmission issues, once for blend door, one sensor and a fuel pressure switch.) I washed and waxed it yesterday, jumped in started it to move it, put it in drive and waited probably 10 seconds before it even thought about starti g to move, i bought it to flat tow behind my motorhome, we now have a crv that flat tows and weights less. I'm looking at either a used Tacoma 2wd or a Honda Ridgeline. (At 69 years old I don't go 4 wheeling anymore)

I would have started by pulling the battery off for a few min too
send the girlfriend home because in times like these you need to be able to think clear (the Women and Children act of 1852) and she is going to take this opportunity to remind you of why you should have bought the Mini Van or the money on the Tune ...
do you have the Ford Issued K9 with you?
that way you never have to walk home alone :(

Too much trouble out of the Ranger and I also will be shopping Ridgeline most likely.

I test drove a Ridgeline with a friend who was looking for his first truck and liked it. The 4' bed was a downside for me. But reliability is beginning to trump functionality for me.

I am creative and stubborn enough to stay the course with the Ranger, but honestly, I've put way too much time and money into the truck and still only see modest returns on my investment. I've got a couple of more cards to play, but if I don't see improvements I'll be unloading it and replacing it with an older rebuilt auto.

My 2005 Ranger doesn't get the MPG, but it has proven itself to be reliable. I don't even think about it. I just start it and go about my business.

Update: I just checked out the 2026 models and they have all the same nanny / greenie nonsense that my Ranger has... Gonna have to pass on it at ~$45K+. I think that I am going to go back in time to find my next new car. 1950's - 2000 Model Year (minus the 1973-1985). and Find a model that is well maintained with modern drive train and brakes.

I think I am done with modern vehicles.

Ridgeline features another one of those greenie innovations, cylinder deactivation . Guy I hunt with is pretty dumb, buys a subie outback because his gf has one, they break up and his new gf has a Ridgeline so he buys one, takes it hunting and with just 7.6" ground clearance the stupid thing was constantly high centering on muddy roads where higher clearance vehicles (like my ranger) made ruts. They drive really nice on the highway but off road a bust. Pretty blah appearance to boot. Dudes gf dumped him and now he's stuck with the Ridgeline and no gf. Sob.
