Welp, totaled my 2021 XLT Sport with 96K Miles on it. We are going to thrown a few K more on to whatever we get out of insurance to get something a year or two newer but with less miles.

Sticking with this generation as I have a few thousand dollars in model specific parts I just pulled off the old truck this morning .... So I'm looking specifically at '22 and '23 XLT's

That being said are there any major differences going from 2021 to 2023? There's a '23 XLT FX4 near by that I'm looking at in the morning. when I was looking at interior pics it doesnt look like there's an Auto Stop Start button anymore. Did they disable that "Feature / Annoyance" permanently or just delete the ability to turn it off with a simple button click?

Pulled my MBS Transmission Dipstick, Floor Mats, Seat Covers, Vent Visors, Bulletproof Diesel 3rd Brake light antenna mount, Dash Tray Mount, Bed lighting kit, the all important Tailgate Damper and my MX4 T Cover. Pretty safe to assume all of this transfers over to 22 and 23 models?

I hope no one was hurt...sorry to hear it was bad enough to total.
Because we're nosy...do you have pictures you're willing to share?

I can't imagine anything you were able to remove wouldn't fit on a '22 or '23.

Hope you’re all okay.

You could order it with ASS delete during the chip shortage, so those woudn’t have that button. Otherwise, pretty much plug n play for aftermarket goodies.

No one was hurt. Under normal circumstances what had happened probably wouldn't have done enough damage to Total it out.

Unfortunately for me, when I discovered the truck ahead of me getting off the interstate had decided 20 ft past the stop line to not continue on to the road we were going on to I was busy looking back at oncoming traffic to see if I had room, which I did. Literally the second I started looking forward again and putting my foot on the accelerator my truck stopped in it's tracks.

His 250 was lifted so high that the bottom of his bumper was even with my Ford emblem and his trailer hitch and ball went over my bumper through the driver side of the radiator and headlight and into the apron. The apron is what sent the estimate from repairable to having my insurance total it out.

Had it been any other vehicle and you would be talking new bumper grille and maybe radiator. Instead his bumper pushed my hood up and back then his hitch did the other damage.

In the end it obviously got declared my fault, but the dude told me and the responding officers different reasons as to why he stopped.

Either way I'm moving on to a new to me used truck.

I have a '23 and when I placed my order in '22, I was given the opportunity to have the truck built without ASS (and that wifi hotspot I think) as there was still a chip shortage, I even got a $50 credit lol. That maybe the same situation with the one you're looking at, previous owner (or dealer) may have optioned to not have it installed.

I hope no one was seriously hurt in the accident.

*EDIT: I see by your next post everyone was ok :like:

I think 2021 was the last year for hood struts. Rear window defrost went away sometime in there.

Wow they deleted rear window defrost - it's compulsory fitment over here.
We had our own share of other deletions however, between 2011 (year of release) to 2015 (my model) we lost under hood insulation, gas bonnet struts, diesel fuel cooler on the return line, paint on the engine block, engine cover ( on some models) and some other minor bits and pieces.

If you have the TBC with the Lumen module - you want to pull that as well, they are discontinued.
As far as ASS - since mine was a ordered truck, it came optioned with a delete, but the research I did on that was if it was a dealer order - it was still installed.

September 2022 + build dates are said to have the corrected 10R80 transmission installed from the factory.
Forgot about that - But (not yet fully confirmed) but anything built on Aug 16 2022 and after should have the newer drum, my build date is Aug 16- so I looked deep into this but came up with (?) and only can use all the TSBs and the pivot point of that date regarding the CDF Drum.
I actually have 2 noted build dates - 8/16 & 8/17, all paperwork shows the 16th but Ford Parts shows the 17th. Either way I am on the proper side of that date and won the coin toss.
But this a major thing to think about when looking at used within the 2022 year, what the build date was.

My '21 has both hood struts and rear defrost. Build date was late April or early May.

Sounds a bit like they just put in what they had at hand when each one rolled down the production line! Because mine was one the very last Px1 models made it has a few Px2 bits in it which can be a pain when ordering parts.
