24-hours in the hospital, walked out on my own. The chp and helo crew couldn.t believe I was alive. Pit maneuvered @ 70mph by a reckless driver Head-on into the side of a hill and flipped three times. The Ranger is gone now, and I need to decide if replacing it and modifying it to replace the last ranger is worth it. Those Rangers are built TUFF, other than two front flat tires the health report is good!

Thank the Good Lord you made it out in one piece and alive. What a mess the Ranger is, but it did it's job!

Good to hear you walked out. Was there any paint from the hit and runner's car? Also, is it safe to assume all the airbags deployed?

Gave up trying to buy a Raptor, every dealer wanted 20+k markup. Bought a Tacoma TRD. I'm thinking it doesn't matter what I own God what's me alive, maybe a punishment? Lived through many cycle accidents racing and now this. I think I'm just getting punished now.
Have nothing but praise for the Rangers Contruction and safety. We'll see what Ford comes out with in the next few years. I'm still a Ford fan, always had one the last 50-years.

I would have saved the extra money and spent it on a Nissan. You thought the extra markup at Ford was bad? Don't forget about the Toyota tax

I've heard nothing but bad things about Nissans drivetrains, would never chance it. We buy new vehicles every five years (reducing our children's inheritance) but warranty visits don't appeal to me. I've heard about rear diff failures on the Ranger and one week before the diff was rebuilt due to a noise. You would think a diff made to handle a hemi jeep could handle a little 4-cyl turbo? Ford needs to make their own axles again.
I've slid off the track at 200+mph (no big deal) been in the emergency room more than once with dirt bike racing issues. But when the Highway patrol and life flight paramedics were waiting around for hours for a fatal diagnosis for their reports, I thought maybe I'm just not allowed to die, and it doesn't matter what vehicle I'm in?

The only drivetrain problem that was major with Nissan was the CVT. Beyond that is usually customer error. If you look at the D40 it has done very well. Yes it did have two major issues in the first 5 years, but it was resolved after that and got refined nicely.

I'm too old to deal with any warranty issues. If I had no choice when younger going with the cheapest monthly payments on a vehicle that could get me the job, then Nissan would be an option. I'm way past that now and avoid dealers at all costs. The Ranger that was totaled never seen the dealer except for the rear axle rebuild under warranty.

Glad to hear that your okay and that you were able to walk away from that. I'm sorry about your truck. Duke is right that is an f'in Ford Ranger, one tough little truck. Idaho Ranger is right as well, age is just a number. Prayers are with you. Take care.
