Well , transmission issue finally hit me.

It took a while .
got 385000km on my ranger .
she started to shift rough,
Then started to slip when shifting .
Then it got real bad.
Transmission shop said it looks like CDF drum issue
It will be close to $7000 to fix .
I still owed$ 8000 on the truck.. ?
Don’t want to pi that kind of money into it with high km so
Today I’m the new owner of a 2025 f150
The ranger will be for sale next week .
hopefully get a few grand so I don’t have to eat the entire 8k

That is a shit ton of miles in 6 or so years. Not sure if I'd have any less confidence in the 10R80 from this post. Seriously doubt I'd put 240k plus miles on before any serious reason to trade up.

Might have bought it used with 120,000 miles and put 25,000-30,000 a year, who knows things like this happen and getting over 200k miles without a trans issue is still amazing!

$8,000 CAD = $5,722.87 USD. Maybe carried som debt forward from the previous vehicle. Now it's a project truck. Someone who works on transmissions or has access to a used or remanufactured 10R80 might pick it up; still looks good on the outside.

There is a buyer for every seller.

Amazing! If I'm that lucky I'll be dead before my Ranger dies this death. Currently averaging 5K miles/yr.
Looks like you swapped an old 10R80 for a new one....with the factory fix on board.
