I have experienced the same thing with my Ranger. Figured it was some driveline shock as the truck is wanting to shift/stay in gear/accelerate/decelerate. I have never noticed it happening at work with the F150's the county acquired. Though driving around airport property is limited to 20mph. One thing I have noticed is that the times I have been off property and up to speed the transmission seems to run a lot better vs. the way my Ranger drives.

#4 - I get the hard jolt every time all the time I drive under 40.
Plus, shaking, vibration, rattling, “missing”.
My goal is to pay it off and get rid of this shit box before the 60k warranty I bought is up.
I am real close !

I was driving home from work the other day when I encountered this condition:
1. Traffic started accelerating, so I started accelerating.
2. Driver in front of me tagged his brakes briefly, so I lifted off throttle.
3. Driver in front of me accelerated, so I stopped lifting from throttle and started to apply throttle.
4. A hard jolt, seemingly from the transmission, happened, and my rear tires squealed on the asphalt.
5. I lifted off the throttle immediately and then everything seemed to return to normal.

Ughhhhh. What gives!? Things had been going really well with this truck, and I definitely don't want to develop transmission problems. (Not that anybody does. LOL)
Jeebuz John, just when you get it all set up with new wheels and everything, you have something mysterious happening. I hope it was only a one-time thing. Wishing you the best on this.

Tow mode will eliminate most of that.

Have never noticed the issue. I really like the shifting of the Ranger but wonder why the gear indicator only shows up once in a while?

Same with mine...?‍♂ reagrdingthe trans gear indicator.

My 2023 transmission seems to struggle downshifting at low speed. Was thinking of taking it in to have it looked at. Anyone that has drivien a standard transmission knows what 'shudder' is. My transmission acts like this at low speed and I have to give it gas to get it to stop shuddering or hit the brakes for a moment to get it to downshift. I'm thinking a possible programming issue??

Hit the "+" on the shifter when in drive to turn on the gear indicator.

If in "S" mode the +/- will shift gears.
Thank you so much, I have wondered how it was on sometimes and not others and that makes a lot of sense!!!

The transmission shift logic is geared towards mileage and lugs the motor.

Drive in Tow, Sport, or get a tune is the only way to fix it.

Also tow will probably get you better MPG.
