I own a 2019 Ranger 2.3L ecoboost, the original owner bought it new and had always used Motorcraft oil, not sure if synthetic or synthetic blend. Should I stick with Motorcraft and if so full synthetic or blend? Im leaning full synthetic. Thanks

Use synthetic. Brand matter less. I would use something reputable. Costco brand tests with good quality, if you have a Costco. Otherwise, any major brand of oil should be fine.
You can watch videos from the motor oil geek on YouTube for tests and information.

I will agree that the motocraft oil is more than enough for the Ranger. For the 2019 that I had I ran the full synthetic motocraft. That all being said I'm more of a motul type of guy And we'll stick with that particular brand.

If you are shopping for best price, it is pretty hard to beat the price of the 5 QT jugs of Mobil 1 synthetic at Walmart.
I always buy my oil in the 5qt jugs, it works out to be $2-$3 per qt cheaper than getting individual quarts. All of my vehicles take more than 5qts so I will buy two 5qt jugs and the second will be good for the next couple of oil changes.
I also buy all my oil at Walmart. I scan the shelves and buy which ever brand has the lowest price at the time. Mobil 1 is more often than not the lowest cost but all the other brands have been on sale with a lower price too.

I will probably stay with Motorcraft.

I use Mobil 1 full synthetic. Idk how true it is but I’ve heard that once you start using synthetic, you shouldn’t change back to blend. Apparently it can cause issues?

Im curious how Motorcraft stands up against Mobil one.
I would be curious too. If I change my oil myself, I use Mobil 1. If I take my Ranger to the dealer for the Works, they use the Motorcraft synthetic blend. I don't notice any difference. If you look at Amazon, both 5 qt jugs are around the same price (the Motorcraft is 85 cents more). Both have 5 star user ratings. Amazon claims they sell 10x more Mobil 1 jugs than Motorcraft.

When I get the dealer Works, I always request full synthetic and pay the difference.
