I'm using Full Synthetic.
I did my first oil change some months ago according to the owner's manual recommendations.
.
However, my change oil reminder alert thing has came up, and I'm only at 6,000 miles.
.
Do I just reset it until the recommended miles are reached for full synthetic?
6,000 since last oil change? The oil life monitor takes driving conditions into the equation to recommend oil changes, not just mileage. And at 6K miles, I'd do it anyway, regardless of what oil is used. I do my changes every 5K. No way I'd go up to 10K according to the manual.

Thanks,
No, 6,000 miles would be my second oil change. I never got an alert to do my first oil change, so I never reset it. I have a total of 6,000 miles since I bought it new.
I don't drive much.

There is also a yearly reminder, if you haven't driven much. So it's like up to 10,000 miles, or once a year. If it's been more than a year, maybe that's why you get the notice.

"Your vehicle has an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor system, a message appears in the information display at the proper oil change interval. This interval may be up to one year or 10,000 mi (16,000 km), hybrid vehicles may exceed 10,000 mi (16,000 km)."

My diesel has an "Oil Quality Sensor" in the block which is supposed to light if the oil gets too dirty. Never seen it lit, don't know how it works, maybe measures the resistivity which would change with carbon loading. But then I also change my oil every 7,500 Km as well, which is the "severe service" recommendation from Ford.
If you look at the conditions attached to the standard service interval, it reads like a software EULA, I honestly don't think anyone meets it unless they change the oil, and then, park the car for 12 months.
