I’m curious, if all I tow is a single jet ski do I really need to put in a tow tune? I sold my boat last summer and don't tow anything else now.

No. I pulled my 1996 Sea Doo Speedster and my S2000 on a trailer on the stock tune and the Ranger worked beautifully in both scenarios. The Ranger has plenty of torque to tow a single jet ski. You won't even notice its there.

I know it can tow, I’ve towed my boat and jet ski. I’m just curious if I need to bother with tow mode for just a jet ski.

If you are towing you need to bother with tow mode. Why? Simple, it changes the shift patterns and the load sensitivity for optimal performance. There are members on here that report better fuel mileage in tow mode when towing vs regular mode when towing.

I have stock 18"s (265/60/18) and have been running the 5 Star 93 Performance Tune for about 2000 miles now and regularly get 24-26 mpg per tank with it. That's calculating miles driven and the total gallons to refill. If I fill it up and get right out onto the freeway with minimal city driving the trip odometer will hit 28-30 while doing 65-70. So running 33's you should get slightly lower that that if you keep your foot out of it and do a fair bit of highway driving compared to city driving.
Keeping the factory sized tires would definitely make for much better telling comparison. Making a tire selection has allot more to it to take into consideration and "weigh out" (no pun intended) than just picking something that looks bigger and is more aggressive. Once you breach a certain size tire, the shift in weight jumps significantly (ave. 13 lbs per tire, based on stock comparisons) due to the heavier ply construction. This might not seem like such a big deal for a V8 to get spun up, but certainly is more work for a 4cly turbo. - Not to mention the wear & tear on the brakes and bearings, just to mention a few.

I'm still a huge fan of going bigger, but mine is a bit more subtle. The breaking point starts after 285/60/R18 where the weight really starts to jump up (see attached xls.). I found that the BF Goodrich TA Trail Terrain to be the best of both worlds. I gained about an inch+ in rider height, achieved an even better ride, and kept the weight per tire to a more acceptable level for my set up.

5 star offers a power train warranty you can purchase for 2, 3, and 5 years. That alone sways me towards them. It also covers aftermarket parts.
Yes, but (if I'm not mistaken) they start at like $1k... (Hard pass)
