I did the Power Stop premium brake pads w/ slotted rotors on my wife's CRV. They seem to be good qualify but I can always hear the fluttering of the discs through the pads during normal driving with the window down. This disappears when you apply the brakes but it's just a bit of an annoyance...
I think MacGyvering a desiccant or a water separator would likely help, but the concern might be a negative impact, or effect on the pressure differential that the sensor is monitoring?
Sooooo ANYWAY. - Has anyone at all made any noteworthy D&E attempts at successfully adapting a water catch can set up to address the ongoing moisture issue? I've considered trying to macgyver something from a 1/4" mini sprayer desiccant bottle, but am concerned that this might risk some sort of...
My EGR sensor went kaput and never threw any codes. My lariat would constantly hunt between 7th & 8th gear at around 30-40 mph, with bucking and jerking. I read here on the forum to check for moisture in the sensor and sure enough that was it. I tried drying it out, but I guess the circuitry was...
Keeping the factory sized tires would definitely make for much better telling comparison. Making a tire selection has allot more to it to take into consideration and "weigh out" (no pun intended) than just picking something that looks bigger and is more aggressive. Once you breach a certain...
I could be (and am likely) wrong, but I believe the NGK 95605 is the 1 step colder recommended plug to the NGK 90495. It's also recommended that they be gaped at 0.26? - Can anyone verify is this info is accurate?
In my humble opinion, based on my "typical" driving routine, statistical probability, and the simple fact that I have yet to hear of a single report of anyone taking a direct hit from a rock, (or whatever), I just can't justify in my mind pulling the trigger on the PSE pan... Yeah, I agree it's...
airline tech, I used a 1/2" drill bit to drill the hole, then used a Dremel Tool to smooth out the honey comb portion of the exterior pan to allow the nut to seat properly. -I drilled from the inside out so that I could get the true center position. The nut fit snuggly, as I intended, but I...
Please, no offense gents, but I was really hoping to see allot more discussion about the original thread subject line, instead of shifting (pun intended) into another worn out discussion about the ridiculously expensive PPE cover.. Yeah, yeah, sure, I get all of the benefits of the pan swap, but...
Fri, Thanks. I'm looking forward to getting this project behind me. I've actually only ever seen one image of Fitz's unit and it was a top view, so I'm not overly familiar with the design. Curious if it has a braided line, or is a pre-bent design?
Also, I am about to pull the trigger on the PPE...
Hi Fitz, Please let me know how you are on stock. I have plans in the near future to do a trany maintenance fluid change and would like to purchase one of your units if available.
Fitz - Also a bit late to the party, but if you still have any units available, please hit a brother up. I'm looking to do a trany fluid change here in the very near future and won't be "taking it up the B&M" at their price.
I hate to say it, but I think you're right.
I've wasted a few weekends attempting to figure it out, going through each tab again and again trying to identify anything that might play into it, but keep falling flat. It was a fun challenge at first, but I've hit a wall and exhausted all of my...
I'm looking to do a complete head unit stereo swap. The system in my Lariat is completely bland and uninspiring. I was shocked (for a Lariat) that this would be the upgraded stereo, but apparently it's just a base unit, not even having navigation, or anything desirous in a stereo for that...
